Price updates from S.P. Road (Bangalore)

I don't know about you but I would give the guy the bird and stop buying from him. Hell if the components are Rs. 100 - 200 cheaper. What we need is good customer support. If this is the kind of attitude dished out to a potential customer then you probably would be on hands and knees when trying to get after sales support!

Exactly..... Forget after sales support. Its a joke for them.

Just came back from SP road now...
gave my UPS for repair:(
bought 400 odd dvds 5.50 bucks each (brand national) and 1KG PP covers for 130 bucks

inquired the price of 4850 sapphire ...its 6300/-

Whats "After sales support" ? That too in India ? And over that too in Bangalore? Boss you are very optimistic, just to expect that thought. ;)

These shops know only sales, after sales they expect us to get support from others or the manufacturer.

Anyway if we have proper Bill then we get support from manufacturer, why deal with these nincompoops in the first place.

PP covers ?? for ?

That's for polythene covers for covering the dvds....non sticky and prevents oxidation of the dye so longer life of the dvds:)

I have 3 yr old dvds (next gen) wrking perfectly with this technique....I got dvds after 5 months...(all HDD's full )

Read all of Viki's post. Too bad this seems to be a common experience for most people who go to buy stuff from SP Road. Bangalore seriously sucks for buying tech stuff.

Anyways, I had myself been to SP Road today for my i5 rig. Here are the prices I got:
i5 750: 9900 (Golchha), 9850(Ankit)
only Golchha has 2 units available. Every other shop says they dont have any stock and will be available by end of month. IT Gain guy actually wanted me to go for i7 920.

Gigabyte P55 UD2 - 7500(Golchha)
No availability of P55-UD3R and P55A-UD3R.

MSI P55CD53 - 7500(IT Gain), 7500(Ankit)
MSI P55GD65 - 9800(IT Gain), 9500(Ankit)

Biostar T5XE - no availability anywhere

Asus P7P55D - 9600(Golchha), 10250(Ankit)

Gskill DDR3 1333Mhz 2x2GB - 6000(Golchha), 5900(Ankit)
Not sure which models they were referring to as I did not remember the model no of the which I was looking for :)

CM Hyper 212+ - 1800(Golchha)

Amazingly, the Golchha guy was in good mood today and actually took time to speak to me regarding warranty service and stuff. Nevertheless, he gave a gem of an info today. Apparently, Rashi peripherals no longer handles warranty service for Asus mobos anymore, atleast not in Bangalore. It seems Asus has now started their own unit for handling service called Asus Royal Club and they are located in SP road itself. According to him the lead time for RMA of a newer motherboard nowadays is 24 hrs. MAX!! Anybody who's bought an Asus product in past 4 months might wanna confirm about this. If this is true, then its an amazing news. Asus makes quality products, but only thing keeping me away from them was the horrible reputation of Rashi.

Also, Golccha's getting Lian Li and Lancool cabbies!! I saw him going their website and asked him if he has them. He told me he does and they start from 12K. Anyways, hope to see one up close one of these days :)

Re: Price updates from S.P. Road (Bangalore) - MAD PRICES!!!

I need to buy an amd 955/ 785 V rig. So went to SP road.

Ankit gave me regular quote nothing remarkable, but plus tax it would turn out to be more than prices i keep seeing ol.

for G Skill Ripjaws 4gb he quoted me 7200!!! i said it cant be more than 6500 then he scratched it out and said, yeah, we'll work it out.. (raaight!)

My local friend then took me to Mahaveer computers - Now, this guy is either deluded, doesn't know what i'm talking about or is into some real <ahem> business. The quote he gave me was not even funny. My face would have been a sight to see. See for yourselves:

AMD 965 BE - 8400 !!!!
AMD 955 BE - 7600 :S
Asus 785 V EVO - 4600 !!!! :S

Dell SP 2309W - 9500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I described it to him - webcam, usb, hdmi, 23 inches, blah blah. he said "haan saab, wohi hai" I'm still not convinced he understood me.

I KID U NOT!!!

I asked him whether it was atx and V evo. He showed be Asus ka catalog. i picked out the model. he said, yes that's for that much only, but he would reduce once i want to buy finally.

His other rates were reasonable enough:

Cm 310 1800 w/o smps (isnt it available for 1600 odd?
Corsair CX 400 - 3400

if someone is going there please check it out. IT's too good to be true. and as the saying goes.... i hope it really is :D
IF it is, i shall buy tomorrow or max by monday, and update officially.
Right now i have his signed quote...

something I liked to share :p me and friend went looking for a Benq 22"

Ankit - 8.5+ taxes

Golcha - 8.3K all inc

Another shop - 8.1K net!

Golcha as usual had his attitude problem.. Thinking he was doing us a big service by even letting us into his shop.

Golcha computers if you ever read this then, please change the way you treat and interact with the customers who come to your shop.

Few weeks back same thing happend to me when I went to buy a 1TB

Ankit 4070

Others were all at 3950-3975

Ankit knows that we been buying stuff from him even then he gives us such b.s prices

Maybe if we become his beech he would give us better pricing

Folks can also try out Ragupathi Infotech opposite Luciya Hotel on OTC Road (around the corner from SP Road entrance). He gives some good prices in general, but you can always check it out to see how much of a difference is there from the other guys.

Had been to karnatak computers(its actaully infinite technolgy)
Core i5 750 8.8k
i7 860 13.8k

Phenom 965 BE 9.1k
X2 550 BE 4750

MSI 785 E 51 4.9k
Glacialpower 650w 4.5k

Corsair H50 4.6k

Hi,

after reading the price of 1tb seagate harddrive as approx 4k in this thread, i decided to take the plunge and visited sp road today.

to my horror the price quoted were close to 5k than 4k. The max or infact the min price tht i cld get to was 4550.

Do i need any personal intro from the fellow members here to get cheaper prices?!
