ok guys i will be going to SP road tomorrow, just tell me what all prices you guys wanna know. Will be having a look at the P55s, i5 750 and the 5xxx series.

I don't think Rs6700 is good for a 4770. How is its performance compared to the 5670 ? 5670 512MB is 5.5k right ?

Couldnt find any board called GA-P55M-UD3. There is a board called GA-P55M-UD2, but that is mATX and 10K is very very high for it. There is another one called GA-P55M-UD4, but dont think that will be available for so less. So I'm guessing the board which you are referring to is GA-P55-UD3, in which case, 10K is pretty good deal. P7P55D is also a good deal for 10K. Go for either of these.

Hi,
I am planning to build a new system with following specs..

Phenom X4 X4 - 965 BE 3.4GHz, 8M, AM3
AMD785G M4A78STD-V-EVO 16x,V,8 ch S, L,F, DDR3
DDR 3 -1333 2x2 GB
Seagate 500 GB
Samsung 19" LD190 5ms Lapfit LCD TFT

or any other general comments with this config...?

Yes I meant the GAP55Ud3. But I am planning to go with the MSI P55 GD 65 board. I will overclock my system and I guess even if I am not heavily into oc the msi board offers one touch overclocking ability. I read a lots of reviews and people seem to feel that the msi is a good vfm.

Ok here it is guys - I went to SP Road today and enquired in about 4 places for the prices:

Golchha:

Intel core I5 - 750 - 9900

MSI P55 Gd 65 - 9000

1 TB Seagate Sata - 4000

2 *2GB Kingston DDR3 Ram - 4800

Samsung P2350 24" Monitor - 11000

Samsung SATA 22x DVD RW - 1100

Logitech Keyboard + Mouse - 610

ATI Radeon HD 5850:

Powercolor - 15500

MSI - 16000

XFX - 17000

ASUS - 18500

EVGA - 20000

Cooler Master Cabinet - 2000

600VA UPS - 1400

Cooler Master 650W PSU - 4000

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ - 1800

Total - 65110+4% = 67714/- (Choosing the Powercolor graphics card)

Ankit Infotech: These guys were costlier

I5 - 750 - 10200

MSI GD 65 - 10000

2 *2GB DDR3 Transcend - 5100

P2350 Samsung 24" - 12000

DVD RW - 1050

HD 5850 - 17000 (Saphire)

1TB Seagate SATA - 4200

KB + Mouse - 600

600VA UPS - 1400

Cabinet Cooler Master - 1800

PSU Cooler master - 650W - 4200

Cooler master hyper 212+ - 1950

IT Gain computers:

Almost the same as golchcha. Probably a difference of 100-200 bucks on the total.

What do you guys think of this config?

config is pretty good, but which PSU is that "Cooler Master 650W PSU - 4000"
It is good if it is CM Real Power series. Better avoid if it is CM Extreme Power. Also, the price also seems expensive for Extreme series. If you are going to spend 4k, why not go for Corsair VX450? Although, I'm not too familiar with the power requirements of a 5850. I'd say better create a thread and ask for expert opinion.

Also, someone mentioned above that i5 750 is available for 9.3K in Computer Mega mart. better get a quote from those guys also.

I'm also planning to go buy an i5 750 and DDR3 rams tomorrow. However, everything depends on if I manage to finish my work by afternoon.:@

Yeah I am actually going for the corsair vx 550w. I also enquired in IT Gain for the processor. They said it was 9450. So thats where I am planning to buy the processor. But obviously today I didnt bargain too much since I waas just getting a quotation. If I go there to buy then I will bargain. Golchha doesnt bargain too much. Overall Golchha and IT Gain gave me a quote that was much lower than Ankit or Anandit. Infact Anandit was a bit dumb:) the guy didnt know anything properly. I will check out again tomorrow (Its pretty hectic going there I should say:)) and then post again.

CHk out GP 650w Al its also avilable and 1k less than VX 550 though comes with 2 yrs warranty and unleeved cables except 24pin. Awesome PSu for the price

Went to Golcha got quote @17K for Logitech Z 5500. Hw's the quote.

People who want I5 750, better get them from Hyderabad. Recently bought @ Hyd for 9.8K Nett.

In every shop there the price is same for processors.

Computer Mega Mart
9.3k + Vat

is this shop closer by ankith infotech?

@ everyone what would be a good motherboard to pick up for core i5,both in terms of quality and also cost effective
Asus P55d/MSI GD 65/MSI CD53/Gigabyte UD3.

I will be running many resource hog oracle products on it and will also be used for video ripping.

Also suggestions on whether to buy BenQ 2420 hd or samung p2350 monitor?

Hey himanshu,

I am building almost the same rig right now. After reading through lots of reviews, consulting our gurus here I have come up with th econfig:

i5-750 - 9900

msi p55 gd 65 - 9000

hd 5850 - 15500.

Also I would suggest you go for the Gigabyte or the msi mobo. not the intel. The reason is because msi and gigabyte offer more features and performance than th eintel ones. Thats what i got through the reviews. But if youa re not planning to overclock i guess intel should be fine cause its reliable. BTW rates for others are:

i7-920 - 13800

dx58so - 14000

dp55kg - around 10k

for all components just to get an idea of prices visit this: www.deltapage.com

Its a chennai based shop but should give you an idea. Anyways costs in delhi should vary a little.

been to SP road this sat and below are the price list...

from JAINEX Computers (one floor above Ankit)
i7 920 - 13900
x58 ud3r - 11600 ( 13900 Ankit, 13700 Golccha  )
corsair 2*2gb 1600MHz - 7900 ( is dis ok :-s )
tx 750W - 7900

gigabyte mobo wasnt available newhere in the market... ll be getting the products by monday today...

GPU:
hd 5850 - 17k
275 - 12-13k
280 - 17k

all the price details tht i got are from JAINEX Computers(the co-owner is my frnds schoolmate... but apart from tht, i found him giving the prices at much lower cost(almost 5-10% lesser thn others, the same time his attitude wasnt bad though he yells at higher voices at times :ohyeah: )
