One trend I've noticed is that in almost *all* NFS threads, somebody pops up and makes a reference to PU.

After that about 10 blokes will add.. "PU was awesome, the best racing sim to date, but I simply loved MW."

That is REALLY FUNNY cause the handling in those two games was sooo much different completely like another world, so I prefer to ignore the statements of a lot of people who say they enjoyed PU and UG 1/2, MW and Carbon but PS sucks!

@Anish, if you read my post carefully you'll see that I was in fact bashing the whole street racer movement right up to this version of NFS, and I do find PS similar to PU (though not really the same) and about as likeable (though not as much).

Just in case you/anybody else thinks I like MW/Carbon etc. I don't. I didn't even buy those games - the demos put me off for good.

I know mate, my post wasn't in reference to yours but some on the previous page and other general NFS threads, I'm glad your having fun in PS! :D

Lol its funny to see people cribbing about this game when it just takes a little time to adapt to it.. and on a gamepad.. its easy as hell.. the only drawback of this game is the boring career.. otherwise.. its probably one of the best NFS games till date.. also.. ive noticed.. people who didnt like MW.. liked carbon.. including me.. cheers!

looks like EA has run outta ideas for street racing  PS looks more like rally n TOCA race driver simulation like games  which DOESNOT make it real street racing :@

^ If you ever had the patience to read the starting disclaimer, EA encourages you to take racing off the streets and advises you to visit your local racecourse :)

Well whether you like this game or not, I can say two things for sure:

#1) The playstation2 port suuuuuuucks.

#2) The announcer in the background who keeps shouting 'ryan cooper this' and 'ryan cooper that' should have been taken out back and shot. Twice. MAybe three times, just to make sure.

yesterday's (3rd December, Monday) Mumbai Mirror Technology section reviewd the NFS Pro Street and the Reviewer says that the word "bad" or worse is just not enuf to describe the game........the game review is filled with cons and one pro about the game is that u can modify the cars as much as u want whether its paint jobs, technology related like engines,N2O etc..............otherwise the reviewer says that the game has the worst AI, Gameplay, Storyline , mapping etc and so on.........anyways one good thing about the game is that its got awesome gfx otherwise its a complete letdown.............the reviewer gave the game a 1/5 rating..............

anyways after reading this i guess i'll expect a lot of neagative as well as positive feedback about this...............

i guess , in the end....................to each his own.............

I just turn voice volume to zero and the announcer disappears.

On another note, I can't seem to drift. I've consulted all the guides, tried every trick in the book, tried every car that seemed remotely suitable, but nothing seems to work. I'm now stuck at the Stage 2 of the Noise Bomb showdowns having beaten three of the kings. Whatever I do results in my car smashing in the walls. I even downloaded a video and tried to copy it, but it has me stumped for now.

Maybe later.

Absolutely!

one more thing i forgot to mention was that, when u start ur race there's no music..............in simple words no music while u race......... :@ there's some crap guy's commentary which sounds like a 2 year old. and the music in Pro Street the reviewer says is beyond horrible................. :@

the second point is that the races are so simple that even an unexperienced user can finish it easily..............and the third point...........there r no difficulties in the game............no cop chases, challenges, spike strips.............where's all the fun gone?????????? i have to admit i really didn't think EA wud sink so low...........

have u tried using the rx-7?? its an awesome car... i upgraded it to level 3.. (i know some ppl won't agree upgrading the performance) .. nd whoa.. i won every race.. including the dockyard ones... just slowdown when u r in the 90 degree corners (the ones in dockyard).. btw if u can't win this... u can't beat ryo... coz in no way drifting to ryo is easy... :)

hope this helped u...

^ What I do is basically speed up on a straight line, then hold the centre of the track, push the car to one side with the turn button corresponding to the turn (i.e. if there is a left turn ahead, push the left button at around 70kmph).

That should set the car into the drift, once its drifting, control the drift, pressing the accelerator and opposite button (i.e. right button) simultaneously.

When the right turn approaches, alternate between buttons to keep the car moving sideways.

Should be kinda easy once you get the hang of it. Do post back your progress ;)

well, i assume maybe EA decided to test how horrible a game can their developers dish out.......maybe some "Worst game" wins kinda intra-EA competition........what do you know, Pro Street Won..............:D
