The drifting is horrible.If you ask me, the best drift engine of them all was the one in Underground 1.In that, you had to ACTUALLY drift, without any stupid fancy unreal sliding physics like in Carbon.
 
The problem is that it don't drift like real life. If you get sideways and let off the gas keeping the nose pointed into the turn, you will slide past the apex on a 4-wheel drift (don't ask me how I know). Blipping the throttle will help keep the power up, and the drift can actually go on for ever. Braking, countersteering or applying throttle will straighten out the car.

When I try and do that here, it just goes straight on into the wall. Weird. It also does not respond to the UG1/2 style of drifting, where you angle into the turn and power it through with full countersteer.

The thing is there's some trick involved, haven't figured out what it is just yet. Maybe I need to dig out my Momo for it, as I've been trying with the keyboard and it has two settings, full right and full left.
 
^^actually, junk that, I just killed the drift king. Used a 350z that I got free from somewhere and tuned it to slide. Still had a few issues in the dockyard, but totally ruled in autopolis and got aki's car.

Now for ryo... rio... who? what?

OK I got him too. Now what? No more challenging things to do? I preferred the stage 2 challenges of the showdown kings, the AI seemed much tougher than Ryo. The kings were pretty lame too.

My cars:

Grip: 350z (free, converted to drift for Noise Bomb challenges after beating Grip king) & EvoX (Lvl3).

Drift: GTO, 240SX, & 350z from above. Plus Aki's RX-7.

Drag: GT500 mostly, free Chevy till it lasted

Speed: Free M3, Free R34, RX-7 (sold off). How does Nate Denver drive that Classic GTO? Thing is a pain in the arse - too much power and too little control.
 
OMG... u got 3 free car markers!! i got only one :(... but i made the most of it... bought myself a lambo :D
 
NFS prostreet is a good game as u can keep different cars for different races, the drift race is a bit difficult but wat really bores me is the damage coz we need to pay for it :( . In all its a must play racing game of 2007
 
No I didn't get even one car marker. I got the free cars after playing some of the challenges. Is that luck? I thought you got one car from each of those challenges anyway. Forst a 350z/GTi grip, a Chevy drag, then a GTO drift, then a Skyline/Viper speed, and finally a M3 speed car.

I also got the drift GTO which I sold. I only bought four cars through the race, and I sold two of them. I'll probably play career mode once more.
 
oh... now i understand what u meant by free cars :P...
btw.. i got one "FREE CAR MARKER"... nd i bought a lamborghini murcielago wid it...

the game is not that bad

but the game is better than carbon at least

and yes the game is not taken of the streets those r the streets just closed off to make them race tracks so u can race legally

iirc... NFS UG series didn't had any cops in it... did they??

neways... didn't had ne intentions of flaming ... just said what i had to.. :)

thanks for pointing it out... what i meant was ... i have played all the games starting from NFS Underground 1 to NFS Carbon... what i loved the most is a big leap from underground racing to MOST wanted and carbon which did involve a very good story line and COPS being introduced smartly to get along with the story..

and to kauzy dont worry i am not the kind who gets into FLAME FEST so no worry there mate :)

at present playing NFS Carbon... with everything on high at 1440*900. i get a minimum of 60 fps all the time thanks to my new monster MSI 8800GT.
 
well... thnx :)

the only reason there r no cops in it r coz the racing is on tracks... i.e. its legal... cops come into play when its illegal ... neways... even i loved being chased by cops (especially corvettes nd rhinos) in MW... :P
