Problem with torrents

I have some wierd problem with torrents ehre :S

Used utorrrent. COnnects with 120 odd seeds, still dload speeds are 30KBps! I have a 8Mbps connection here.

On HTTP dloads I get 8.5Mbps. dunno why torrents are giving probs :S tried vuze, same reults.

your isp might be blocking torrent traffic.

in utorrent try going to:

Options->Preferences->BitTorrent

under 'Protocol Encryption', in the Outgoing list, select Enabled and check the box in front of 'Allow incoming legacy connections'

were you able to get decent download speeds earlier?,..or has this been the case since you started using torrents?

Check if you are able to open ports.

Check with utorrent only

been like this from day 1. friend with a 2Mbps conection getting full speeds on torrents but not me :S

Same problem here . .I have 512kbps net and I am getting fine speeds with HTTP and FPT download but torrent with utorrent is very slow. Will try kget soon .. Donno whats the problem ! :S

try selecting a port above 45000 from the preferences and see weather its accepting/sending connections.

if it is blocked:

your port might not be forwarded in your router.

sunny for the record my ports are blocked and i still get full speed

is there a green tick in your status bar? ( in µtorrent i.e) or does it show a red/yellow exclamation/question mark or something. If its the latter then your ports are definitely blocked and i guess the only thing you can do is talk to your admin.

Do µtorrent upload*download cap still exists..........like for UL=<5kbps we have DL=<5*6 kbps=30kbps!!

most probably ur ip is in the peer guardian ip blocklist range i think.
