Project Kraken : Water Cooled Monstrosity (Worklog)

Normally I set out to get some work done on this project and realise I need something which delays the process as I go out to find it. Simple things like safety glasses or a adapter for the water tap to flush the radiators.

Update wise I have been preparing the radiators and cleaning out the components. Got an extra full set of X1050 cables as I will be sleeving the originals and thought I should have a spare ones in case of need.
Got a Biocide too yesterday which is much more powerful than PtNuke from a very helpful forum member which should work well without any issues.

Silver Killcoil + Biocide (Benzalkonium chloride) should be enough to keep and algae growth and decrease maintenance frequency

Was waiting for some molex connectors with tools to remove them. Got that delivery too.

Pictures maybe at night.

@Infected
Well for me the balance has to be between performance, looks and reliability.

Perfomance wise I think single loop should give good comparable performance. Its a debate which people keep arguing and I must say I would rather have a single loop which is neat without any issues.

Dual Loop versus Single, the facts

As highlighted by the thread above I would take single loop over a dual loop unless I go Quad or Tri SLI. For a future Dual 680 SLI with a 3770K I would take single loop.

Dual loops cause a mess in the cabinet. I did some calculations to see if I could fit a 2 reservoirs with mod tops but it would just lead to a chaotic setup which I would hate.
I would have had to fit the pump on fan mounting on the bottom radiator and removed both the HDD cages. I will be removing the bottom HDD cage but removing another HDD cage would just mean less space for mounting HDDs. I have a 2 HDDs now and do plan to upgrade later.

The dual pumps in series give redundancy which helps in case one dies and it gives me some time before my components are cooked (reliability)

Hey @ronnie_gogs, as I have already complimented you on the rig, I suppose I can ask you a small favor :P

Since you mentioned you play TF2, can you record a small video of TF2 on a tri-monitor setup? I would love to see that since TF2 is the only game I play these days.

Sure will install TF2 and show you. Didn't try any of the source engine games yet. I might be rusty though as I didn't play TF2 for a few months now. Now I think I should have taken a bigger SSD as someone mentioned previously :P. My 128 GB seems a tad small for installing multiple games and software.

very nice setup. i m also having switch 810 i have modded it,s front panel to show my enermax tb trio fans. for lighting inside the cabby u can contact me

I hear ya.
I am already a bit worried about my pump. I dont know how much it would handle.
M thinking of adding a 140mm Single rad. Push/Pull and a 690 Waterblock in my loop. Just to add the GPU underwater as well.
Both rad and parts from XSPC. thats why I think I might need a better pump as the days go by.

^^do you really have your 2600K at 5.5Ghz?i mean you run it at that 24x7?with HT?man if you say yes, then your rig is GOD.

NOw I run it at 5.0 for 24/7, and 5.5 for benching...but you have already gone thru my thread by now, so you know.

Anyway lets get back to the OP....Looking forward to the OP's PC :)
