Is it just me or the game IS buggy ? RAM usage sometimes crosses 5GB mark. Not very well optimized for PC I would say. Waiting for a patch !

Finshed the game!
Boy this one was really short,I mean it took me not more than 5hours to complete the main story line, prototype 2 was kinda disappointing when compared to its predecessor.
The Story was shitty and main characther is ok ,this game suffers from mindless repetition this is the aspect where the prequel exceeded the sequel failed completely. only thing that kept me playing is the various combat moves that heller possesses and also getting around the city can be really fun,the graphics have improved a lot though, other than that this is a very "meh" game and the story ending is quite abrupt.

This game is good for a one time romp .and it is certainly not worth 3k :P

Done with the game. Took me exactly 15 hours with an 89 percent completion rate. This was a good game, but I still prefer the first game somehow. I just couldn't buy this whole Alex Mercer spreading the "genetic mutation superiority" propaganda bullshit. Anyway, with that said, James Heller proved to be a worthy stand-in, amidst his horrendous dialogues. I loved how they decided to revamp the upgrade system and split it into various side activities for diversifying the gameplay. In the first game, you could pretty much buy everything if you had enough XP. The mutation upgrades were very well designed. I was utterly disappointed with the lack of boss battles in this game. Every "boss" battle was juggling the same mini-bosses over and over again. Visually, the game look a bit better than the first one with the whole lighting effects and minor texture upgrades, too bad it didn't scale too well. The performance was another downer. It was vastly unstable for me, but never unplayable. Over-all a pretty solid sequel and it's a shame Radical Entertainment got canned. They had great potential. :(

It was one beautiful weekend! Spent some time organising the furniture and equipment at home, and then some cleaning. And some Prototype 2 action to end the day. :D

And although it may seem like the gameplay resembles inFamous/inFamous 2, I personally loved the game (the story sucks) and it felt really good and refreshing to hack and slash through the brawlers, super soldiers and Blackwatch troops plus the added gore. The shapeshifting feature and the SONAR were welcome additions to the original game. And WTF was the Blackhole attack using the tendrils?! And that Devastator power! Those were some really insane powers that almost owned the mutants and the troops. The enemy variety is lacking however and I've just encountered few different species of mutants. Other than the Blackwatch troops i.e. The game's seamless transition from the Menus to the game was pretty cool. I think Darksiders II is having a similar system judging by the playthrough videos.

Fortunately, I did not run into any frame rate issues with the game but a bug in one of the initial missions (Operation Flytrap) pissed me off really bad. This happens when Heller acquires the claws from the first brawler and then he's tasked with pouncing onto one of the Blackwatch soldiers but somehow despite doing this, the objective wouldn't change and I kept killing more troops. And then, I thought the mission was perhaps glitched and then restarted from the last checkpoint but that wouldn't help either. Finally, I searched on the web and turns out there were plenty of them who faced this issue. One of the Steam threads on this helped and assigning the affinity of the process to Core 0 from the Task Manager (when the game is started) resolved it. Wasted half an hour with that.

Right now, I've

defeated Dr. Koenig
and paused it. Completed several Blacknet side missions and acquired some mutation upgrades and powers. Collected several Blackboxes scattered around but couldn't find all of them from one city. It's been a while since I've played a decent hack and slash title.

Completed the game yesterday and quite surprisingly, I loved the story towards the ending (it did become a bit predictive at times) with that emotional touch to it, although Cornell Womack's voice acting (he's the same guy who voice Doyle, the primary antagonist of Farcry) for James Heller was pretty commendable - all that rage and fury was well portrayed. Boss fights got a bit boring and with Heller unlocking more mutant powers towards the end and upgrading them, the boss battles became a walk in the park. The Blacknet side missions became a bit repetitive as well - Heller seemed like doing the same thing again and again. Consume a random scientist or Blackwatch trooper, recollect the last memory, undo something. I attempted several Blacknet missions but gave up towards the end. The save file showed a game completion time of about 62% after the ending and must have clocked close to 10 hours or so. I think I loved this one over the first title thanks to the improved gameplay mechanics and the new powers, Radical Entertainment managed to pull off a very good sequel. It was very unfortunate that they underwent some massive layoffs recently. Good luck to the developers - here's hoping that they find a new home.

Side Missions gets boring due to repetitive stuffs. Else i really liked the game. Better than Prototype 1, Definitely. Plus it was totally fun free-roam. :D
