Hi ma brother coming from dubai next week... im planning to take HP pavillion laptop , model not confirmed yet, will it be cheaper in dubai or here/.? warranty is not a problem since HP offers international warrante,,,,

It's cheaper there but you'll have to put up with the arabic numerals splattered all over the keyboard. That will also affect resale value down the line.

Someone bought a fully loaded Pavilion dv2600 for about 42k from the middle east early last year.

Yeah..there will be arabic characters for sure on the laptop :D and even i had told my frnd last year to get an HP pavilion laptop from dubai..but i cancelled the plan...coz almost all the laptops available there are not available in India..and HP will provide warranty here in india of only those laptops purchased from abroad which are also available in india(it has to be the exact same model) ..there is around 8k-10k price diff. though in the prices of these laptops in india and dubai...but i wont recommend buying unless you get the exact same model in India...so check that first..

yea i agree with abhishek they dont honor the warrenty of the model not launched in india. and if they do same they dont have parts to fix like happened with my friend his gfx got some issue and hp india dont have that gfx here so takes 2 months time to get new gfx fixed so whats the use of international warrenty

well in india its aweful reason products along with aweful after sales long ques in service centers no one give daam about ur issues

You can get HP laptops here w/o Arabic on the keyboard(ie only english)....but HP service in India sucks to the core....My friends experience : Bought a dv6000series laptop from Dubai, the mobo dies after 6months of usage and HP India takes around 75days to get it replaced and no proper follow up.

No wonder HP is rated the worst in after-sales and customer service as seen in the latest rankings out here. A reliability score is 14/1000 is so awesome! NOT!

Actually, the HP warranty is only good for 1 year. The Pavilion series laptops are good but one has to keep in mind, the fact that a huge sum of 50K+ only for a year of warranty is absurd. A year will be the life of your laptop after which newer models will come out and you will not want to spend on repairs of an outdated model.

Dell and Lenovo models have significantly better build quality. Warranty is same I guess. Acer has 2 years warranty but build quality is not that great.

You can always buy extended warranty for a little extra. I have 3 year NBD international warranty on all my laptops and have replaced tons of things for free.

does hp also have an exteneded warrantee scheme? also pls let me some models which is commonly launched here and also in the middle east, especially dubai....

I don't currently know of any dealers there but will find out for you. Planning to go there in about a week's time. Hope that's not too late for ya.. Any particular model ur lookin for ?

For 5-6k dhms....you should get a DV4 series,you'll get one with 4gb ram/250gb hdd/intel p8400/nvidia 9300m GS....

For best bargains, lots of stores to choose, visit Al-Ain Center(aka Computer plaza) which is in Bur-Dubai.
