Quake 4 Sounds issues...

Guys.. I have no Sound in Quake 4...
In Audio Settings in says "Your source card does not support OpenAL"
Wtf is OpenAL???? I never heard of it b4 in my life. :|.
 
Stop using onboard sound dude, even an sb live value supports openal.

Is id doing this just to get back at creative for forcing them to pay royalties for using that patented shadows technology in doom3?

Dude... gimme 5k. Ill happily go buy it.. I dont have the money.

Im more focused on my Mouse and Mousepads. Which cost as much as the Sound Card.

Lets see if i can convince me dad.
 
lol, you can get a decent sb live for 1500, that's cheaper than a 'pro' mousepad.
People waste $25 on a square foot of rubber and remain content with onboard sound, marketting at it's best.

Awesome post!! For the uninformed, the live 24 bit supports OpenAL without a hitch. Cost: 1600 bucks. Goldie no excuse for you now!

I thought it could be a driver problem as my Frnd on this 915GV Chipset plays it properly.

I dunno why i asked. Forget it.

That is why I use the mousepad which I got for free from my Computer Shop.

I use a Ferrari original one my dad got for 10 Euros.... not the best gaming surface, but I am not a pro gamer and I am a huuuge Ferrari fan:P
