Anyone here in Borivali got screenguard applied on their nexus 7 from indraprasth basement shop or around ?
I am in Mumbai this weekend and was planning to get the screenguard changed.

What happened to the old screen guard?
They might have good screen guards at Anupam right.

I applied this screen guard myself and I did a terrible job. There are couple of places where there are dust particles beneath the surface of screen guard and it really bothers me while watching my TV series.
 
You can reuse screen guards - peel it slightly, use scotch tape to remove dust particles and attach it back using the squeegee to take care of bubbles. You can also wash the screen guard and apply it properly, google for reusing screen guard.
 
Got the screenguard applied. It cost me whooping 450 Rs.
It is proper matte unlike earlier one which was advertised as matte but it turned out very very less matte and more of glossy.
Hope this stays for long.

I put glossy for my N7.
He didnt have screen-guard for N7. So he cut a laptop screen-guard and fit it for N7.

Sorry couldn't help you, but this might come handy in future.
Try the market near Dagdusheth Ganpati in Pune, ofcourse there will be similar ones in Mumbai, got my matte screen guard for nexus 7 perfectly applied for just 180 bucks.
 
I dropped my N7 2013 yesterday. Fortunately It seems to be working fine. I had put the Poetic gripgraph case and i think that saved it from the impact.

I knew the drop would happen sometime or later, based on my past drop performance with other devices.
I was like :dead:. Checked for cam, dents and cracks on screen. Nothing whatsover. Checked for Wifi and Sim network strength. Also checked for Performance using Antutu. It scored around 19958. :P
I heard that the N7 is not so strong. I am still worried a bit. :(
Anyone had any such drop experience?

Have you tried Nexus Root Toolkit?
I rooted a friend's Nexus 7 2012 using it. But his OS version was 4.2

NRT is very simple. They also have a guide on their website.
 
nexus 7 owners plz help me, i m in market for new tab I have a offer on nexus 7(2012) 32gb with 3g in warranty for 10k , does it suffice the current apps demands or is it better to buy a newer version or a new Asus fonepad 7.
 
I have Nexus 7 (which unfortunately is dead currently). I have a folio type case on it and when i close the case, the nexus 7 screen turns off and locks and when I open the cover (like a book), nexus 7 screen lights up and I have to then unlock the tablet. This is all fine.
Is there any way If i want to achieve the functionality that when I close the case cover, the screen should not go blank or should not lock at all. Say for example I am playing a video in MX player (or any random software), if i close the cover the tablet should still continue playing the video and may be screen also should remain lit.
Possible ?

Well you can install Elemental kernel and disable the magnetic screen lock option and then the folio cover should not lock the screen on closing. However it would mean its disabled completely and wont work for any application unless you change the kernel again.

I want a simpler option. The tablet is not rooted and if and when I get it back alive, I don't really plan on rooting but if there is a simple guide available, I shall root it.

Not sure about other options but installing a different kernel goes beyond just rooting your tablet. I would say its more tinkering than even installing a different ROM as you can really tweak the tablet like voltage to CPU, frequency, battery control... I liked using different kernel as I liked the double tap to wake up the tablet.

I using a Paranoid ROM with my LTE 32 Gb as I find it much useful compared to stock android and has faster OTA (auto updates).
