4850 is at its sweetest price now

But for a 15" monitor, its an overkill really

If 4670 is on the higher side of your budget, then get 4650 or 8600GT, it should also play most games at med to high settings at 1024 res

Thats what i am thinking..

But 5k seems to be too much for a HD4670 as HD4850 is just avail for 6.2k.. and 9800GT(w/o 6-pin power connector) for around 6k...

HD4670 is more then enough for your screen..if u'll buy HD4850 ~ 6.2k as u mentioned then u'll have to buy a PSU for it too n that will atleast cost u another 2k or so..

Are you sure, 4850 is available for 6.2k, which company are you talking about?
I think its 7k with taxes. Have prices reduced or what?

My 4670 has no problems in running GTA 4 at 1280x1024 with all settings(except shadows) maxed out.
I get around 35-40 fps.

Thats great....

Well then 8600GT 512MB DDR3 will be enuff for me. Is it?

Less than Rs. 4,800

Well, i'll enquire low-priced 4670 and if it fits my budget then i'll go for it. Otherwise 8600GT 512MB DDR3...:@

Initially when HD4670 was release it beat 9600GT in all benchs, but after nvidia released their updated drivers 9600GT was far better than HD4670, especially at higher resolutions. But IMO you wont see any the difference when playing on 15", but if you are moving to 17", 9600GT will be a better choice, but again you hav to upgrade PSU...which makes it not so vfm, but can try the Eco edition if you want.

btw is that a Zebby PRO 450W that you hav on your siggy?? then no need for PSU upgrade.

Its not Zebby Pro? Ordinary Zebby 450W SATAII

I suggest sell tht PSU off.....and get Gigabyte RP 460w/CX 400 /tagan 500w one time investment. U will never have to worry abt power consumption again.

HD 4670 512mb is better choice........I tht new 4670 was available as low as 4k?:cool2:

If buying 9600gt-look @ 9800gt 5.5k(zotac)

I am no GPU expert but what i find in most of the reviews of HD 4670 in the net is its made for user who is more inclined towards HTPC than mainstream games. I am not saying it can't play latest games with decent fps but i think its main target audience is HTPC lovers.

I guess HD 4770 is much better option for both gaming as well as power saving aspect than HD 4670 or Nvidia 9600 GSO (HD 4770 main drawback is its price is steeper than the other cards mentioned here -at least in India).

(On a side note, I am myself still to decide on which card to go for Asus HD 4770 Formula card or Sparkle GTS 250 )

Wait dude..

I am going to upgrade the whole junk after three months or so. I'll get bucks enuff to buy even a Core i7 rig.

The problem is i am getting mad not playing games and working 24x7 with my current project. So i need some refreshement in name of game.

I am having two option

Buy a used HD4670 or a 9600GT
or
Get a new 8600GT 512MB DDR3 one..

Why i chose 86Gt is simple. Coz i need to play GTA4 at medium settings @ 1024x768. Which is easily done by 8600GT. Ain't it?

and no matter, the whole system will be grabbed by my bro, who is not a gamer, after the upgrade.

Am i clear?

My 8800GTS 320mb was couging 30FPS-40FPS @ 1024 X 768 with medium details. Get a used 4670/9600so if u are very desperate to play.:hap2:

30fps wasn't that bad. I think its playable. And as for ur suggestion, i am trying hard to get a used 4670/9600GT...

Well, then get a XFX 9600GSO @ 4.2k or HD4670 @ ~ 4.6k

These are the best options, and performing too.
+1
768 MB 9600GSO (the G92 one) can be OCed to match a 9800GT.

Well, then how abt a 9600GSO 768MB DDR2 192bit @ around 3.6k? Is that looking like a sweet deal?

And AFAIK, the prices of 9600GT is gonna fall by next week. So whether i go for a new 9600GT around ~ 3.8k(may be a bit high) or get this 9600GSO for 3.6k??

Please guys enlighten me? Also does a Generi 450W PSU will handle the 9600GSO?

Great deal at that price if its the G92 9600 GSO, but that PSU is not recommended at all.
Above GPU will give probably embarrass both the HD 4670 and the 9600GT @ stock when OCed.

Well, for PSU most recommended GPU is the HD4670.

But my friend told me that my current PSU will be able to handle it w/o any hiccup with the current hardware. Is that true? Could i believe this? And whats wrong with my Zebby 450W SATA II guys?
