in 15" both perform almost similar in games- but with 4670 you can save a power a lot and with 9600gt you can get 3D in linux

Ordered a new MSI HD4670 1GB for 4.6k.(Prices in chennai seems a bit high). Will get it by Monday. Does my 450W PSU(rated max output 240W) will handle it, along with all other components of my PC? Or do i need to buy some other higher rated PSU's? (yup, a low cost PSU like Zebby 500W SATA II)

whats the price of sapphire of ati radeon 4670 in chennai?
i got a quote from mahavir multimedia(ritchie's street) to be 5.5k?
whats the actual price??????

plus is the hd4670 decent on 19" monitor at 1440 x 900?

@Srirama

Sapphire HD4670 512MB/1GB - 4.6k/4.9k

Shop Name : RC Automation

Its in street opposite to Bata showroom(which is in opposite to Sony Showroom in Mount Road)

For 19" monitor, HD4670 wont be a good choice. Go for HD4850 or GTS250. Both suits for 19" monitor... Or else get a Palit 9800GT for 5.7k...

the HD4670 needs 60W power at full load check for the wattage load of yor components and decide whether to buy a new smps or not

The current power supply might just cut it for a 4670, but buying a good power supply is always a good investment. The Gigabyte 460 watts seems to be decent for the price, you can check the dealer section for the deal etc...

I have a 4670 @19"...and so far I haven't encountered a game that wont run on my PC. Im playing batman at full settings without a glitch. I have played games like Assassins Creed, DMC4, World in conflict, Crysis etc. all smoothly on my 19" dell monitor. And as far as I remember, I played them at maxed settings.

I dont know about the games that are about to be released but my gpu plays most of the games till date.

And 5.5k is too much for 4670 512..I bought mine @5k-5.2k 4 months back.(1GB version)

According to pcgamers, it runs fine with the power supplied by the pcie slot (75 watt) on the motherboard. so no need of any external power connector. which means no need for any expensive branded psu. runs fine on any local 400watt smps

Guys finally i have some time to play with this card. The first game i am playing is Fuel and i am playing it @ high settings , 8xAA,8xAF, and i got a whooping 50fps. Thats really unbelievable for me. And with Tomb Raider Underworld i got around 30fps with all maxed out. 4670 rocks dudes...!!!!!

Hi,

In Bangalore there is a premium of Rs 500/- or more for 4670 512MB DDR3
for Sapphire as compared to Palit or Powercolor.

Is it worth paying Rs 500/- for Sapphire brand ?

Any difference in quality or just brand premium ?

Traditionally Sapphire used better quality components, am not sure now. Go for the card which has better RMA service in your area.

Haven't installed the game yet. Lost one of the DVD, so wait till my bro bring back his copy, may be around 10th. Till then Fuel.

Also got some older games which i was unable to play @ high previously. Currently doing some benching with Test Drive Unlimited(Playing it at maxed),Fuel(Same as TDU). Also searching for more games as they were laying all over my room. Need to install a game that i'll play..:ohyeah:

How abt you ggt? How many FPS do you got? at what res and settings?

no man still contemplating installing GTA IV. heard GTA IV needs 1GIG Vram so never tried installing or D/Lding it.

Just ignore that. I saw few gameplay videos in youtube where a guy with E2180,4GB RAM,HD4670 512MB play the game without any glitches at high (except few settings.. ;) i forgot them). So no need to worry abt VRAM as it only stress CPU more and 512MB is enuff to play it. BTW My clock speeds were pushed to 795/925(Core/Mem) from the default of (750/873).Yet havent face any issues. Will push it further man. Whats yours?

never felt the need the need to push them on any of the games i played .but i remembered going upto 750/903. when on my vista x64 it used to stutter a bit for NFSMW. but on win7 everything is smooth.
