you are welcome Darth Infernus.

Speaking and yawning forces some tiny minute droplets of mucus in to the air thats why it is contagious

If you are exposed to the virus, it can take up to 21 days for you to develop chickenpox and, till then, you are a potential source of infection.

Actually this is what caught my eye... :P

Btw, i have read tht the vaccine isnt effective in all the cases..especially among adults..plus the fact tht CP has far worse secondary complications in adults than in kids.

@MEdPal:Hey buddy, thanks for all the info...but if only u cud help us a bit more, please..:) I have a few questions..

1. I havent have had CP ever..so does tht make me susceptible as an adult?? I mean is it necessary tht it will affect every person sometime in their lives?

2. I'll be turning 26 this december..do you still recommend a vaccine ?

3. ISnt natural immunity (without vaccines) enuf to keep CP away?

4. Finally, i had measles in childhood. Will it be enuf to keep CP from affecting me as an adult?

Thanks in advance...:)

As once the infection of CP occurs it gives natural lifetime immunity, but if you have not sufffered the disease in childhood chances are there you may catch it in your adult life, but as now a days general health status of our country has increased you may not get it. But to be worried aspect is that if you suffer from some other disease which compromises your immunity your body may have open flood gates for CP like virus transmitted diseases.

Vaccine per se is effective in reducing the intensity of the disease symptoms of CP may even give extended immunity so that disease may not occur so if you take the vaccine now you may or may not get the disease, but it sure that if you take the vaccine now, the sufferring will be quite minimal.

Nope, thats why viral diseases are most deadly of them all, viruses keep changing their structure, nature all the time so it is highly unlikely to be concquered.

Measles and ChickenPox are both different entity altogether, they are not cross related to each other you can get either of these even if you have suffered from other.

It glad to be helpfull to you :D
