See as long as you are 10-12C above your ambient room temperature you are fine. I still feel you are good regarding thermals. :)

Thanks asingh. I do have a TRUE black from my old rig. But, dont have a 1156 bolt through kit. But, that was not the problem. Wanted to check it in stock settings first. I will also check after installing the TRUE.

One more question to those who mentioned idle temps - by idle, did you mean multi, C1E and memory frequencies set to auto, hence the frequency between 1.6MHZ and 3.4MHZ? Or with multi set to 34, hence 3.4MHZ constant?

For me, if I manually overclock it to 3.4MHz, which is nothing but the stock frequency, the idle temps increase by 5C. But the load temps remain the same. So, I have left it at auto for now.

^^

Idle means..when there is no load on the cores. You can leave the above settings to auto if you are not OC'ing, is fine.

That is quite impressive for stock cooling. Then can we tell the OP to remain with his stock HSF, you seem to be doing fine...? You both have a similar setup. What is the idle.
4.6G was just for brief high end testing runs. I run 24x7 at 4.0G. Guess my GTX570 doesn't need anything faster for the games I play, especially at the resolution I run at.

With ambients of 25-26C, I idle at 30-32C (This also applies to the 4.6G run since speedstep takes me down to 1.6G when idling, with .9x vcore).

Yeah, heard a lot of bad things about the AISuite. I installed it thinking that CPU-Z showed the wrong values. Wont be using it anymore. But, I dont understand the second part. Looking at task manager shows different services for different tools. Is that what you were refering to?

AISuite is a ginormous pain in the rear. i noticed that it started up 22 processes when the full suite is installed. I need every last MB of memory in my machine for work, and AISuite in the background used to take up 100-150megs :@

Everyone with an Asus SB board should really be looking up the guides and discussions on [Hard]OCP forums.

makes no difference... even having a single module is a pain.. slows down startups noticeably for me.
I haven't really found any value in tweaking via AI Suite vis a vis UEFI

Just thought of updating. Intel stock cooler is indeed crappy. Mounted my True and idle temps went to 35-40 from 40-42 earlier. The load temps are now 50-55 from 70-75 in prime.
