ATI is not giving any chance for the green team to recoup. They are striking them again and again...

Amazing comeback from the REDs :) I am enjoying this graphical warfare

ati is holding nvidia's head with hair and making nvidia's head in and out in a bucket full of water.:rofl:

why GDDR3? Didnt they use DDR3 on 4670 because both performed same with less cost for DDR3?

it says about 150$ so w can safely assume that the biggies will peg it at about 160 - 170 odd and smalltimers like palit could very wel peg it about the 140$ mark.

Amen!!

lately ati has been a ever pinching thorn in nvidias backside, doesnt look like its gonna stop any time soon

The performance graph shown is a bit out of propotion.. If looked upon clearly we can see that the graph's offset in the Y-axis.. This'll make the gains of the ati card (the red bar) seem a bit higher than what it actually is..

Look carefully.. The graph's Y-axis starts at .8, it should have been 0.. This'll project the difference in the values more than a graph with y-axis starting at 0.

Here's the graph with the corrected Y-axis..

Now does the performance difference seem as high as in the first one??

Your point (If there is one) holds valid only if the scale on which they're compared is different or if there were no values given on the Y-axis. Anyone with decent intellect is good enough to understand that graph. Its not about the size of the bars anyway but rather the numbers they convey :P

No offence meant but I dont see the graph being any different than the original one except for the extension below :P

@vinaycm, u nailed the lie! the corrected graph shows the correct picture. its well known that the ATI 48XX are better than the 8800/9800GT, but the inflated scenario of the earlier graph was kinda shocking when i first saw it.

I dont think everyone will make an indepth study of graphs.. For most the graphs are just look n leave.. Morevoer there is no values given adjacent to each graph, if so it' could have been more understandable to the ordinary eye.. Iam not trying to prove any point, the graph looked a bit misleading, that's all..

This's just a marketing gimmick.. To make a quick impression..

^^ i didn't find that graph misleading at all.. To make it simpler, you can assume 0.8 = 1

Take an Example of COD4 with 9800GT & HD4830 at 1.0

9800GT = 1.2
then HD4830 = 1.38

1.38- 1.2 / 1.2 (x100) = 15%

Now both at 0.8

9800GT = 1.0
HD4830 = 1.15
1.15 - 1.0/1.0(x100) = 15% :ohyeah:
well, 640 ALU's on LE version is enough to beat 9800GT 0r even 9800GTX.
on RV770, ATI disabled or removed 160 ALU's means the new LE will now have 8 SIMD Units. 1 SIMD = 16 SP x 5 = 80 ALU's..

From Shaders we can get TMU & RBE aswell

TMU = 32, to keep shader/tmu ratio constant i.e 640/32 = 20:1
RBE = 12 , tmu/rbe i.e ~ 2,5

That graph cant mislead the techies.. That's for sure.. But what about the other, who dont care to make an indepth study into all those details & just take the first impression..

^^well those type of people are the ones that give these company their bread & butter!.....Imho. .....Nvidia is now paying price for designing hardware to please enthosist segment!.....[gtx280......??]

There was hardly a bead of sweat that went into designing the the GTX series .. its nothing but a bibigger .. fatter ..G92..in layman terms ..just (almost)double the number of shaders on the 9800GTX ..and voila ! we have a new product .. the gpu is huge and if not for the amazing NV cooler it could easily fry seom egg...nothing new interms of features .. or enhancements

ATI on the other hand have designed a new chip .. with additional features and lotsa enhancements...

Nvidia lost a nice advantage cause they decided to try and fool consumers with refurbished technology.

Well in one of there interview nvidia official said they wanted to please enthu-segment w/ one huge gpu which in there opinion is more bada§§...And what amd-ati is not capable of ,funds-wise..!
So basically they put there oldgen on steroids and now they are paying for sideeffects :rofl:
