....I think I am the only one hoping it lives up to iD.

Hang in there Infected and wait for it. I am with you on this. Let us hope that the game does offer something.

We certainly did not upgrade our systems for no reason!

^^ thank you.

I am sure Mr. Carmack will deliver, give him sometime, I have faith in him and in iD...maybe a mega patch soon....

Two companys' I can be sure of in gaming are iD and Valve...

And here's what the CEO had to say why the gameplay is largely linear:

“It’s not like, ‘just wander around,’ and that’s on purpose,” Hollenshead told Gamasutra.

“I mean, the point of the game isn’t to [wander around].”

Hollenshead said the wastelands betwene missions and town hubs aren’t there for exploring, but for surviving.

“We try to make the wastelands more like some of the experiences like running a gauntlet to get through from point A to point B, as opposed to just going where you want,” he said.

Nevertheless, the CEO said game does enable player choices as they pertain to gameplay.

“It’s open, there are meaningful choices that you can make, in terms of what you want to do,” he explained.

“There’s not necessarily a predetermined order of, ‘this is number one, this is number two, this is number three. You may have multiple missions that you can do at the same time, and the order in which you choose them is up to you.

“Now, it may be more or less challenging based on the way it was intended, but it’s not necessarily dictated.”

Having said that, Hollenshead admitted that players sometimes won’t be able to backtrack once they make enough progress, and that choices may sometimes boiled down to do or don’t.

Ok from what i've read so far, the game appears to have been overhyped.

I'll try getting a refund or something from steam since it's not yet unlocked. Till then i ll keep the 25 gb preload

18 GB is surely a pass for me.

Moreover this game is shit, a friend told me that the pc version doesn't even have graphic options? you serious bro ID?

Go and create shitty iphone games no one cares about.

Rage has received generally favourable reviews, with a score of 86, 83 & 82 on Metacritic for the PC, Playstation 3 & Xbox 360 recpectively. Electronic Gaming Monthly praised the game, giving it a score of 9.5/10. They stated that the game features impressive visuals, brutal and satisfying combat, fluid animations and advanced enemy A.I., numerous entertaining side-missions, and an addictive multiplayer component. The one complaint they had with Rage was that the final boss fight was unsatisfying compared to the rest of the game's impressive combat scenarios. Ars Technica, however, published a more negative review, criticizing a "broken save system" (going into the menu and manually saving instead of auto-saving), lack of story, undeveloped characters, and uninteresting quests, while acknowledging the quality of the visuals. Game Informer chipped in, giving the game a 9 out of 10 and said the multiplayer component of the game got old after awhile as there are only two game types: two player Co-Op which they said was quite fun and a driving game type which got old after awhile. IGN praised the game's graphics calling them some of the best ever, but criticized the game's story and forgettable characters.

From Wikipedia.

I think it is fine. We all know, that we all know -- that we all will still play it. :)

Plus not to worried about the manual safe. At least better than the ports which hardly have one.

I just noticed that the 360 version's 3rd disc is basically for MP only. So we just need to install 2 discs for the SP campaign. YAY!

We can jump on with Disc 1 to start off, wonder whether this can stand off against GeoW 3

The GT review looked very interesting. It does resemble Borderlands in a lot of ways, but the graphics definitely stand out. It won't stand a chance against Gears of War 3. :p

Stand a chance against gears3!? why!..It looks far better than gears3 imo..

No chances against Gears 3 , G3 has far better lightning and who does not wants to kick some ass

Gears of War 3 vs Rage ...I love it.

How we compare apples to oranges and say yeah oranges aren't "Redder" or "Greener"...

there is never any point in comparing games these days each one has their own pros and cons...

If I had to I would compare Rage to anything apart from Fallout (haven't played borderlands) it would be to Bioshock, but thats just me, just cause of the art work maybe or cause of the fresh new IP. each one has, or cause of a very refreshing change to the genre....But thats just me....and I loved Bioshock.

Really how many of us have even launched the game yet? I feel its not so right to compare games on other critics opinions, though they are a decent guideline, lets not be prejudice about it, and try for ourselves....I am sure it has enough content to keep us happy...really gaming scores of 8's ain't that bad, yes we have been spoilt by GTA4's 10/10 etc

I am not sure of the visuals and level designs. Probably Rage might take the crown here but other than that, Gears 3 wins it hands down in the rest of the departments. Voice acting, gameplay, presentation, you name it.

Besides, this is their first title with the id Tech 5 engine. :p
