You shouldnt drop From russia with love and Gold Finger either.. :P
They are my fav ones. Start with FRWL. But mind you, both are old movies so dont expect out and out thrillers.

imo bond movies are pretty mediocre ones, with very few good ones out there.

Only the girls and the brand name of Bond sells them. Else i think Bourne beats the hell out of bond any given day.

+1, Bourne series is much more gripping.

However, Bond is better for female eye-candy ;)
Thanks for the replies. Nah, I hate pathetic graphics. Will stick to GoldenEye > Die Another Day > Casino Royale. And then jump to Bourne series. :P

Die Hard 3 - 7/10.

Now that Die Hard series is about to end for me, here's my next query: I've never seen a single James Bond movie. :ashamed: Now since I've no knowledge about Bond films, I've trouble finding out which movie to start from. IINM, there are some pathetic James Bond movie, so I want to watch _only_ the gems and not a time-pass flick. Please recommend the movies which are worth it and in what order should I watch them.

The only good Bond movies are Goldeneye and Casino Royale. Seriously.
The older ones have not aged well at all.

Live Free or Die Hard - 7.7/10. That sums up the series for me. Thanks to all those who recommended me this. Enjoyed the first and fourth installment specially.

Think, I'll skip Die Another Day then. Also, all the movies are not interrelated, right?

They aren't related no, but there is a catch.

It's like the Star Wars argument. Some people say the correct order to watch them is chronologically. But the die-hard firmly believe they were released in reverse order for a reason.
And it's true, the complete fall from grace of Vader in E1,2,3 is so much more dramatic when you know beforehand just what brutalities he performs in E4,5,6.

Similarly a major part of the appeal of Casino Royale and subsequently Quantum of Solace is finding out exactly what made Bond such a cold-hearted son of a b**ch.
The last scene of Casino Royale just feels so damn satisfying because everything finally falls into place after years of watching Bond in action in older movies.

So maybe you might miss out on that aspect character development wise, but story wise, they are all unrelated.

Tbh, that is a very lame excuse/reason to be skipping movies.

There are tons of movies from the Black n White movies era which still dont have a parallel. Actors like James Stewart, Henry fonda still glow in movies like 12 Angry men etc and same is true for many movies like Citizen Kane.

The Last King of Scotland - 9.5/10

Fantastic movie and brilliant acting by Forest Whitaker. No wonder he bagged an Oscar for the role lol. Regretted not watching it until now.

Yup, I've seen 12 Angry Men and I totally loved it. IIRC I rated it 10/10 here. Its just that I don't like "action" movies with pathetic graphic.

The Debt - 9/10 - In the year 1967 three Mossad agents(1 hot chic included) try to find a doctor who performed crazy experiments in Nazi death camps. 30 years later the truth comes back to haunt them. Nice plot and a gripping movie

The movie is actually diluted I think.I read that he did a lot more insane things. The movie showed just a few things but very well made.
