I would not spend a rupee more than Rs.100 for the movie, MI4. Anyone who does so is a fool and has no value for his money or has way too much in which case I can provide my Paypal/bank account to you You can donate some of your worthless cash to me.

@ Spacescreamer - Paula Patton's assets needed more screen space and screen time. the other female french villain - don't remember the name also was pretty(!) good.

Unfortunately Rs.100 tickets for a English movie era is long gone in Bangalore :( . Its either watch it for free after few months or spend Rs.200 and above on a ticket.

Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol... 7/10. The first half was very good and gr8 edge of the seat action. The movie gets slow and action scenes get a bit low and slow in second half. Although the movie is good one time watch. Best action movie after X-Men : First Class IMO.

Thanks for the nutshell review. I've never seen any movie from the Mission Impossible franchise till date but I want to see this new one. Will it make sense? How confused would I be, if at all?
Anyone? :ashamed:

The only movie worth watching in MI franchise is the first one. MI1 is an absolutely brilliant piece of work and one of the best action movies imo.

After the first movie though, the series keeps getting worse progressively with 4 being the worst.
The only good thing about MI4 is Paula Patton's cocktail dress. The plot is non-existent and only serves as an excuse to move from one action sequence to another.

As for viewing order, there is some basic continuity between 2 and 3 regarding one of the agent's backstory and between 3 and 4 regarding Ethan Hunt's wife's backstory but nothing major.

I highly recommend saving your money and watching MI1 instead.

MI1 is one of my top action movies of all time too but i disagree with you abt this movie. saw it in imax and it was awesome. if i give mi1 9 then this is a 8. brad bird has directed action like few have in the last generation (best director of action since james cameron). good use of background music, longer shots, no micro-second edits that leave you wondering what is happening and to whom (refer : michael bay), no unnecessary exposition and constant, relentless action with good doses of humor. the only down points were lack of a strong villain and the kitschy anil kapoor portion which didnt go tonally with the rest of the film. the whole burj dubai segment alone makes the film worth watching again. i got vertigo in a few shots :bleh: to all - you must see this movie in imax if you can

nope, they only show a 60 (or is it 90) sec teaser

^^I liked Mi3 and Mi1. I didn't like the look of Thandie Newton in Mi2 who looked malnourished and ill with no flesh on her. Mi4's Paula Patton was the best of all the Mi movie girls.

A camrip of that trailer is there on youtube... assuming you are talking about the football field one. Not very impressive imo. Casting of catwoman looks like a bigger fail than Vidya Balan as Silk Smitha.

MI4: 9/10

Saw it in IMAX and had my mind blown. Not a slow moment from beginning to end. Anil Kapoor vs Paul Patton's scenes were HILARIOUS. The music was good too (sitar MI remix) in the hotel scene. Definitely rivals MI1 as the best MI for me with MI2 close behind.
