411 uses of "****", 111 uses of "shit" and scads of other obscenities, vulgarities, profanities and epithets, in English and Spanish.

Obscene gestures are made.

Name calling (b**ch, Nigger, Dick and Prick.)

At first I wanted to like your post because that table you put looks so beautiful, but after looking at it's contents :O /rant

Btw I totally agree with you. Dabangg was okayish, but Ready, Bodygaurd were intolerable. Movies by Prabhudeva are utter crap IMO. And movies by SRK are total piece of shit.

What worries me is, movies which are awesome do NOT get what they deserve. Paan Singh Tomaar was way awesome movie & it totally deserved to sent to Oscar. Instead they went ahead with Barfi [which is NOT a bad movie, but copy from several Hollywood movies & music, which NOT is even close to a Oscar material]

Except Kahaani & GoW, I doubt if any other movies gained fame & earned money they deserved compared to Jab Thak Hai Crap, Shit Of The Year & Ek Tha Poop.

Totally agreed here ! [except for movie Agneepath]

Couldn't agree more. I've seen Race 2 and David in the past 2 days. Here are what I would rate them as:

Race-2: 0.2/10
David: 8/10

Race 2 is even worse than Dabanng 2. Yet more people prefer to watch over-hyped crap like DisgRACE-2 (continuing your work with the movie titles :P) than almost masterpieces like David. Its the fault of the people I would say. Most people just want a "one-time-watch" or a "total TP" or "paisa vasool" movie and the film-makers will readily agree to give these to such audiences. If you're willing to do "time"-pass while watching such movies, it indicates really poorly about the value you have for your "time".

Midnight's Children - 7/10

Decent movie but it felt dragged after the interval. All the characters put up a good show. Screenplay sucked.

I wonder when do we get tickets for Vishwaroop (Hindi) now that the Tamil version wouldn't be releasing here.

Absolutely it aint anything personal mate :)
and the last line in your post is abs true and that was what i was referring to. but back to movie ratings and opinions on movies rather than the moviemakers.

Drohkaal (1994) - 7/10
Had delayed its viewing since a few months and did had a few expectations as well.. but it fell flat on its face. Waste of time.
Seems like it was a remake too.. of the movie - Deep cover.

Fact is that a successful movie feeds not just the director and the marquee stars in it, but also the families of 100s of technicians involved with it. A less successful or unsuccessful one (commercially) cannot do that. These masala films bring back far more money, and livelihood, to the industry than any of those 'different' films, which do a few rounds of film circuits, and earn praises from critics, but fail to gross anywhere near as much to go much beyond breaking even - and these are then termed as 'successes' by the media which, like with all other topics, has little to no clue what they are talking about.

The more visible actors, directors, music directors etc. walk away with their money, least bothered about if the others who earn per shift or day, have got their due. Even in this regard, Rohit recently paid for the technicians himself when Bol Bachchan when the producers made a mess of it. Haven't heard of Anurag Kashyap or Vishal Bharadwaj or other 'good' directors doing anything like that. Oh wait, their films don't earn so much for them to be able to do it.

That is quite a flawed argument to be honest, agantuk. If we are terming movies as good/bad based solely on revenue then this thread should not even exist. We can just read the statistics of the web. That way the paintings of Rembrandt or da Vinci or Van Gogh, should be ignored, cause those artists earned hardly anything from them...! Just because R.Shetty is doing goodwill by paying his working staff, does not liberate him or exonerate him from being sub-par or bad as a professional. Comparing Vishal to Rohit: Of course the fomer has better films out there, and they did just as well. Revenue connotations are not the only factor. A lot of people here are noir and aficionados of films, and reading this type of logic is fallacy at the minimal. You are trying to template-ize a measurement system which is really dynamic and vivid. Can you not see that, when it comes to the critique on movies. Hope this makes sense.

The Chernobyl Diaries - 7/10. Watch it to see Priyapat; and the bleak and granite architecture of Old Russia.
The Bourne Legacy - 8/10. Quite good, must say.

Django Unchained 8/10 - Classical English (A very good acting by Christoph Waltz)
Argo 8/10 - A good Classy Movie
Zero Dark Thirty 7/10 - Felt bit laggy and boring somewhere (needs lots of patience)

Watched after they got the Golden Globe in one or more categories :)

Hereafter(2010) - 7/10,always liked Eastwood work,slow but ok movie.

Skyfall - 7.5/10,i enjoyed this as more of a action movie than a bond movie.

P.S:Adele's titletrack was awesome.

Table No. 21 - 7/10

Decent. Had it not been for Paresh Rawal, the movie would have been half as good. Almost broke down during the last 15 minutes where they portray the victim and the tortures he had to face. :(

Saw two tamil thrillers, not at all bad, fine movies !

Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu [*ing Kamal Hassan]
Naan Mahaan Alla [*ing Karthik & Kaajal Agarwal]

Seen anyone here.

Yep in the theatres when they released. Good movies worth a watch. The first one esp. with the serial killer theme! And Jo was absolutely spectacular with Kamal.

Have you seen Pizza? Naan Ee? Please watch them. You'd love it.

Saw them both! Naan Ee had fantastic CG work for an Indian movie. :P

Did you watch them in Hindi? Living in TN I don't know if these Tamil movies are dubbed in Hindi.
