Saw Phone Booth.
Pretty solid 7/10. Extremely silly, self referential, lots of callbacks to Bollywood tropes and memes.
Jackie Shroff is boss !
Lots of hooting and clapping at one of his scenes.
Fun watch. Recommended.

The NorthMan - (Prime) - 7/10

A violent, gory, tragedy. Viking violence on full frontal display. Slow at a times and maybe overload of VooDoo and barking/howling for some.

But the CineScape is pretty good. The lands of the North are vivid and delightfully bleak.

All these topped with a brilliant cast!

Watched PS-1 yesterday night...
There is some good story going on and great production values, but the direction and dubbing were meh, very clutter-ish.
Can give 6 or 7/10. One-time watch only.

Watched Bullet train movie last night, fantastic and was so entertaining.. if you forget logic here and there, this is a solid 8 or 9 entertainment wise.

Recently watched
  • Bullet Train - entertaining/decent. 7/10
  • Lal Singh Chaddha : 3/10 - well, I had to watch it to know how much they ruined the original. And yeah, I am not disappointed. 3 points only for 'Indian'izing the various characters, which I didn't find much awkward.
  • Brahmastra : 2/10 - I liked the first half of it. May be my expectations were really low. Overall it's bad. Not worth the time.

Lal Singh Chaddha: 6/10 Time pass! Just that PK type Amir khan..but story was good even though most of the movie was pure fictional and obvious filmy!
Brahmastra: 6/10 kind got interested later in 2nd half.. Awaiting part 2 eagerly!

Monica my Darling. 8/10
Best movie of this year. Neo noir, and what a background score. Quite Tarantino-esque. Has homage n cross overs! Stylish.

Monica my Darling: 6/10
Fun, average, one-time watchable, not as good as Andhadhun, and few scenes are overdramatic/silly. Some of the actors did an excellent job.

Black Panther : Wakanda Forever
Much better than some of the crap they had been dishing out. I found the underwater representation to be better than DC somehow. The ending was weak though. 7/10

Wakanda Forever (Black Panther 2):
Don't pay ₹300-350 for it. Story was okay-ish, the movie itself is a Chadwick Boseman tribute. VFX awesome, the main characters lack character. Not worth it even for a Black Panther fan imo.

Enola Holmes 2: Ending could have been more impactful, liked it a lot though. You will notice a few 'netflixifying' but it was not overdone. Good screenplay, acting. Worth your time. Must watch for sherlock fans.

Brahmastra part one: So many conflicting names (deva, shiva, brahmastra) the whole dialogues are a mess. Did a watchalong with my girlfriend because she insisted. We spent most of the times laughing at dialogues. Not worth your time, unless you are multitasking.

Disney Pixar's Cars: 7/10
Watched it after a loooong time. Feel good movie.

I showed it to my 5 years old son and he became obsessed with Lighning Mcqueen.
In last one year, I might have watched the 1st movie at least 10 times, mostly to accompany my kid. But I hardly get bored. :)

Monica O My Darling - Solid 8/10. Great acting, excellent BGM/retro music, fun plot.

Brahmastra - The dialogues are atrocious. The concept is cool, but everything feels so rushed. The VFX is limited to using pink/red/green/blue HDR hues for most scenes. Unnecessary masala music thrown in.
They could have taken time and built a movie around each Astra, fleshing out great background stories etc.
