Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

Demon Slayer To the Hashira Training - 8.5/10

It's an easy must watch for Demon Slayer fans, good to see the last 2 episodes of last season, but not as much as the last 2 episodes of Entertainment District Arc though. Tengen's fight scene on a big screen is still one of the best things you can watch. The 40min special of the new season is good. Ticket prices were not much (150-200) even in Bengaluru where movies like Animal were close to 500, so worth it.
 
Fair Game 7/10

A political thriller which I kept putting off watching because I knew it would be misleading.

The Bush administration lied about wmd's in Iraq. A lot has been said about that but this matters little in the grand scheme of things. What is not mentioned is why they lied. If you leave it at that its just an opposition charge which is why the people concerned were treated the way they were. Which the movie shows you.

The why requires a knowledge of geopolitics which you won't get in movies. After Afghanistan Al Q dispersed into the wind meaning other Arab countries. How to get those countries to catch them?

Put the fear of God into them that if the US could invade Iraq on such a pretext they could be next. With us or against us worked, they all signed on once the message became clear.
 
Salaar 5/10

Classic masala movie . The world building is good and its the only thing that I am rating the movie for . Prabhas's acting is so bad . I could watch paint dry instead . No joke I don't think he has more than 5 minutes of dialog in the entire movie

2/10 for me, Its a slow motion action superhero masala movie where hero have a power of an elephant and he can kick a 100kg guy who will land 10mt away.
Also they tried to build like GOT with all those houses making it very confusing (calling something in slow motion doesn't put a weight to it)
 
American Fiction: 5/10
The trailer was interesting so I gave it a watch, turns out everything good about the movie was already in the trailer and the movie has nothing else to offer.

Article 370: 4/10
Typical Bollywood affair, I was hoping for something better.

Just goes to show you can have best actors, best budget, best production but if the story does not have legs then the movie will be a flop.

I've used imdb's ratings for over twenty years and it's been a reliable indicator of whether a movie was worth watching. Anything 7 or more is worth considering. If it's 8 or more then it's a must see.

This system of voting is way better than text reviews you see in newspapers which I've never got comfortable with or were overly critical for no good reason.

Also since imdbs reviews get voted on they are pretty decent. Not paid like you see on amazon

I still wonder which category of people liked and enjoys such typs of movies and may be its because of such people it managed to get 5+ ratings on imdb.

Their ratings are even more brutal, anything over 3/5 is good and can be watched. 4 and above are classics.

haww.. why?? In indian context, it far better movie, trying to copy Hollywood, etc. It that bad what internet people trying to make it.

about language/sanskar , 1000 time shitter & vulgar language is used any random hindi movie produced.
Nudity, 90% songs are vulgar & softcore porn in indian commercial movies, but we call them "item number".
brutality? i guess you are not exposed to Tamil action movies, i cant recall the name but there was some Dhanush's move last year in NF.. that the worst gore movie i have seen in my life.. felt like puking within 30 minute. im scared to death watching tamil actin moves afterwords.

It matters how many votes a movie gets. More votes the more reliable the rating. That takes time. So if you want to be first to watch something like a few are here then imdb will not help

Ah! This is something new. Not had a reason to change from imdb which I have read only relationship. If you get votes faster then I guess it's worth it
