Sinners (2025) - 8/10

A really fun watch! The story, the buildup and the climax... fantastic! Also, the post-credits scenes were such a nice touch.

My only wish was...

Busty Annie should have been allowed to turn into a Vamp... oh man she would have been a force to reckon with if she went to the dark side! :smilingimp:[\spoiler]

Such an amazing movie - and needs a good sound setup to be enjoyed properly. One of the rare movies in recent times which leaves a lasting impression days after you have seen it !

Totally agree with this, I enjoyed it so much that I will be going to watch this at imax once again this week, I doubt we will get such a well rounded cinematic experience again for a while. This is one of those rare movies that is worth spending money on to watch in theaters instead of waiting for an ott release, just for the sake of supporting originality and creativity that this project exudes, be it the acting, the symbolism, costume, set design, original soundtracks and not to mention that 'one' scene which will probably go down in the annals of cinematography and talks about like how for ages to come.

Umbarro (2025) - Gujrati movie - 6/10

Execution of story could have been better. It felt like they did not touch/deep dive enough to go/bring details of each character's story.

It was a great experience. As a comic book fan, watching this period piece embrace the over the top nature of the Batman mythos was a treat to watch in contrast to the Nolan trilogy; which is a bit bleak and realistic, and my first Batman movie experience. I had my doubts about Keaton, but he plays the character pretty well, and Joker is done fantastically by Nicholson as well. The supporting cast could've used a bit of development, but I didn't mind it, considering the trends of the time it was produced in. Vicki Vale who is an awesome character in the comics is reduced to a bit of damsel in distress here but oh well, at least she does some reporting. Alfred is pretty nice and might be my favorite portrayal in live-action. Overall, the jokes and insanity of the joker lands impressively and despite a pretty brief development, Bruce and Batman feel impactful in the story.

The practical effects are awesome, same goes for action, pretty good stuff. The theme absolutely slaps, and I get why it is so beloved in the fan base, but I still prefer the Batman: TAS theme over this.

Excited to watch the sequel.

An easy 7.5/10.

I recall this as one of the first movies in a hall from my childhood. It was the then excellent large screen at Chanakya cinema, Delhi. I recall craning my neck to watch from one side of the screen to the other; it was the original big screen. This Tim Burton masterpiece made me a fan of Michael Keaton forever. Who would have thought that Nicholson will pull a rabbit-out-of-the-hat act as the Joker. And the Batmobile was a rage back then, more than Bond's convertible car sub.
