Hey,

Which one is better between these: Razer Blackwidow and Razer Lycosa

The specs are the same, so the only difference is that,

Razer Blackwidow has a mechanical layout,

While Razer Lycosa has rubber heads but with Blue LEDs...

Which one should I buy???

Cost of both is almost the same...

^^ Razer Black Widow, what price are you getting it for?

Either ways due to its mechanical layout, it doesn't face the ghosting issue a membrane based keyboard like the Razer Lycosa might face. But if budget constraints you even the latter (Lycosa) isn't a bad keyboard. Hope this helps.

For more information on the same, here are a few articles -- Keyboard technology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia / Mechanical Keyboard Guide - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net / Mechanical vs. Membrane vs. Scissor-Switch Membrane Keyswitches on Keyboards by ErgoCanada.com.

I was in the same place a few months ago and decided to go with Lycosa mirror. The price played an important factor in my decision as the price difference between the two was more than 3k at that time. Between Blackwidow and lycosa, Black widow is a better keyboard hands down thanks to its mechanical layout, superior backlight and dedicated keys. I am comparing Blackwidow ultimate with lycosa mirror here. The backlight in blackwidow is better and has four different variants. Blackwidow also has a set of separeate function keys which are very useful.

Lycosa mirror on the other hand is by no means a bad keyboard. It has the looks to die for, easily one of the best looking keyboards out there. The build quality is solid and typing on this is a breeze. The only downside being the touchpad. The touchpad for multimedia applications on the keyboard can be unresponsive at times. Infact, my volume key on the touch pad stopped working in less than 4 months of my purchase. As its a small issue, I ignored it but it was disappointing and I did not expect this from a high end keyboard.

In the end if price is not a factor for you, go with Blackwidow ultimate else settle for Lycosa.

Mechnaical keyboards have amazing responsiveness & feel.

I'd suggest to go with the BW rather the Lycosa, simply because a mechanical keyboard is better than any membrane keyboard hands down.
