One of my friends' eyeing on a RD 350.

He wouldn't mind spending an arm and a leg, but the bike should be maintained in a decent condition if not pristine.

He's working with me in Surat. The farthest he could go fetching one would be Pune.

I've suggested him to register in Xbhp forums but I fear the majority of the wannabes there, might not give him the best suggestion. Peeps here could pour ur views. :)

What abt the spares for this one?

PS: I did suggest him a few 2nd hand RE Bullets for like <45k. He's eyes set on the RD initially.

I hope your friend knows the cost of maintaining it as well.......I dont need to think twice if if i had to go out for a casual spin on my bike.......I dont' think if i had an RD i would even think of a casual spin as I would be thinking of the guzzling engine all the time. However, I always dreamt of owning an RD, but then I stayed back because of various reasons like cost of maintenance , part availability and recurring issues.

An RD in good condition would cost like 40k and above. However do note - Nobody would sell an RD if it hasnt had a history of issues or has started giving one :)

I remember someone buying a spanking neat maintained RD for about 55-60k and the next thing was the connecting rod broke off and the person was another 10k down.

Look around the "X" forums and if u want to be away from the newbies u can and pay attention to the senior members there.

6 years back when I was considering thinking of getting an RD , I was getting one for 45k....it was total drool stuff :drool2:
Japnese Engine, Front Disc , Rear Drum, Spanking black, All original accessories.......The only issue with the bike was it had oversized drums at the rear and bullet drum break liners had to be modded in order to be fitted into them and mileage of 14kmpl :)
