Car & Bike Recharge OR New Battery

My alto wont start after being idle for a month! the mechanic inspected the car battery and said that the battery has only 2 volts! :@ and u need a new battery 35 amps one! recharging wont do much! it will last for a week or even one day. so what should i do?

1.recharge it and use it. See how many days it will last or buy a new maintenance free battery! if yes suggest me a good battery.

he has tata green and exide maintenance free batteries. he said he will give 600Rs for my old exide battery. the new one costs me 3100Rs + VAT!
 
First get it charged and serviced if need be, by a proper service station or authorised battery retailer. :)
I have seen some from Exide and heard of Amaron ones. :)

Depending on how old it is and the electrolyte levels, etc.,
It will hopefully work for some more time provided you use the vehicle regularly or start the car and let it idle for few minutes daily or atleast once in 2-3 days- also good for your engine.
But please don't rev it hard to get it to idle- just a lil input to the pedal is enough if not holding idle when cold.
Also shift it into first gear and move front-back a lil to set all gears, wheels in motion- if it's not possible to take it out for a short spin in the locality. :P
 
heh i think its waste of time and energy. giving it for recharging again it will go off in few days! i will buy the new one maintenance free battery plz pour in your suggestions. also tell me what other things to look out for!

Whatever type you get- if you don't start your car often atleast to let it idle for sometime if not drive it around- it's going to meet with the same fate as the old one. :(
 
ok i will start the car as u guys suggested atleast idle for few mins! now which battery should i buy?

1.tata green
2.AC delco
3.Amaron
4.BOSCH

I'm open to suggestions! also plz mention the price and warranty period.
