PC Peripherals Recommend a low price speaker setup

I need to gift a PC speaker set to a friend for his B'day
What would be the best speaker set in a 2K ish budget?

Philips 2.1 really rock.. I have Altec Lansing 121i.. but philips sounds really good..

one of my frends just picked a logitech 2.1 for around 1.5 k or so. sounds very decent for the price.

Creative Inspiron M2600 @ 1.6k (2.1 setup and looks better than the SBS series)

sbs 370 is replaced by A300 a better looking and better sounding one

Get a ATP3, dude..500-600 bucks more but its worth it and more. Your friend will love you for it

Its easy to ask ppl to up their budget. but wat really matters is giving a solution within the budget in hand.

True. Btw, those speakers look decent but only 15w rms output :/

If he has a budget of 2k then why not spend a couple of 100s more and get the creative with almost double the output
