Could you be a bit more specific with the plan you had opted for?
I opted for combo 750 plan. Morning 750kbps, nights 1MBps.

The issue is this system needs you to log off properly each time properly when you shutdown the machine (This will be problem, if there is no UPS )

Also If you keep your machine Ideal for 30 min, system will log you off.

In both the above cases, when you try to login back, you get a message Your previous session was terminated Abruptly. Please click here to termiate.-->when you terminate this giving answer to your secret question, you get message that session is successfully logged off.. But you will not be able to login again atleast for 30 min ( Max could be 6hrs).
This is very rare if you use the login script. Maybe happens once a fortnight or if there is a server problem suddenly.

Atleast that is true in my case.

Will try the suggested router settings soon. Server is down so no Internet.

^Mohit, what plan are you into? Are there problems with 24x7 downloads? As in disconnection and logging out? Did you use the python script?

I'm using the 1Mbps combo.

There are no problems in 24x7 downloads using the script(Been using since June). My script runs scheduled to run every 10 minutes.

Disconnection and logging out problem only occurs when there is a problem on the server side, ie, usually when it is down or after updation. Former depends on your luck and latter usually never happens. Like right now my server is down since 4 days because someone in PCMC dug deep enough to cut the fiber optic wires, so basically just plain old bad luck than anything else.

FYI: I have the pythan script,It works some times only for auto login, not for the 2 hr connectivity.

Are you using the same script posted by me in this thread?

yes, the same script, got it from indian broadband forum. It just logs me in sometimes siuccessfully at start up.. It will not stop system from going to Idle state ..

I am not discouraging any one here from getting Reliance connection, just wanted to post my story :)

Then I guess its different for every user.

Because is still logged in 95% of the time, even if it has been shut down for a week.

My internet is back up again. Script logged in automatically and torrents started downloading. Download the script I had posted and try it. Run every 19 minutes.

I spoke too soon.

Net back down only in my area apparently because of some authorisation issue, whatever that is.

I have faced the same issue with reliance. Used the connetion for 15 days only.(got the connection on 4th of this month, closed it 2 days back. Now have taken a 756 kbps with excel media 750PM,including tax plan)

Reliance offer the static IP ( with out login option),only when you pay 2k per year or you have limited usage plan. As per their business rules, you need to log off properly.Even if you keep system ideally for 30 min, you will get logged off. Torrent downloads over night do not work with this plan.
Setting up WIFI:Reset your router to Factory defaults and then try the otain IP,Obrain DNS dynamically.. Then it should work for you ( you have to login through only one machine).
Done. Will update in a few days.

Did not want to create a separate thread so I'll ask here,

Need some help from python experts

Attached are the login and logout script for reliance.

Now, suppose I disconnect the router wire and run either script, it runs for 20 seconds or so and then terminates even though it is unsuccessful in its task.

I want to make it wait for infinity or as close to it until its job is successfully over.

I don't know jack about python so need some assistance...

TIA

Bump! I am using the Reliance Night Booster Zoom 1 plan with the Buffalo WCR GN router. I have performed the easy setup on the router and was able to get the wifi working using the settings. Now my netbook can connect to the router using wifi.

But some folks here have mentioned using dynamic DNS and acquiring the IP address automatically from the DHCP server. I was able to do the latter but not the dynamic DNS part.

If someone has a similar router and Reliance's connection, could you please help a noob with the connection settings applicable for this Reliance connection?

Besides the net connection seem to drop every now and then as well and requires the web login. A member did link me up to the pythin script but I lost it. Can this router setup be used to run the python script as well?

Hello people,

I have a Reliance wireline broadband connection and it requires web login. I use a Buffalo wifi router and it's set up with Tomato firmware. I noticed a few users on this thread have similar configurations. Could you please tell me which settings I should keep for the smoothest possible wifi usage? In fact, what would really help me would be if anyone could just post a screenshot of their settings page. I'll update mine to the same so that I can enjoy smooth wifi.

Please help! :)
