PC Peripherals Room A/c to cool pc ?

I dont think thats a good idea, doing do will put lot of moisture directly inside ur chassis.

and whats with the "!!!!!!"?

:O wow....do you get "FREE" electricity wherever you are :O

better , get an aftermarket cooler , fans , mods , case mods , water cooling , watever you want etc.....

It would work but as mohit said when you turn it off you would get condensation inside the pc which could kill the components inside the pc
 
Condensation is bound to occur if the open case is kept pretty close to the air-flow from the AC. Not otherwise.

It should bring down the temps by an appreciable margin but how long would you keep it that way? :P

Invest in a better aftermarket air cooler.
 
There is a definite risk with condensation only if your components are not running hot already. That is to say, if you aren't running some benching apps on a over-volted and overclocked PC, then keep your PC away from the a/c vent.

I guess cooling down to 20 degrees C is not too much of a risk, but lower than that the risk becomes higher. That 20 degree figure is not scientifically found out :P but just a rough guess based on how my rig survived that temp when I was benching.

@TheTechMind: If your room has central a/c like in some dorms, then you may have 24/7 cooling.
 
I think everyone misunderstood the OP. He isn't talking about directly putting an open cabinet in front of the AC blast to cool it down rapidly.
I always keep my cabinet open and nothing happens when the AC is turned on.

I don't think condensation is much of a threat if you just keep your cabinet open anywhere in the room while the AC is on.
 
get a good aftermarket cooler for CPU and lots of fans with at least one air intake fan..what cabinet you have?
 
well my cabinet side panel always remain open at AC temp 22-25, the graphics card temps are 45-55 degrees.

its not a problem. just make sure you dust of the pc once in a week though.

What kind of science tells that. Actually AC removes the moisture from the air (when you close the AC went and put it in recycle mode) and make it dry as the the moisture condenses around cool refrigerant pipes, thats the reason the AC's are always equipped with water outlet pipes. You have mistaken AC with desert cooler :D.

Put ur rig infront of the a/c and you'll know why I said what I said. :|
 
i back mohit on this..

ever let your AC be on full blast all night? wen u wake up in the morning and switch off your AC, within the next 30 to 60 mins your entire room will be full of dew..

best to avoid cooling comps with ACs.. use after-market coolers..
 
Buying an AC to cool PC is foolishness, u should not directly throw AC air on open PC as stated by Mohit, if u have AC in your room PC will obviously run cooler. Keep in mind the cost effectiveness of cooling PC with AC.

I am posting this using a computer where the monitor is kept exactly in front of AC, if you want i can send the pic also ;). As pointed out by another TE buddy, formation of due in room when A/C if off only happen when you keep the room door open allowing humid air to mix with dry cool air causing condensation.
