Memory

Internal Memory: 4GB storage, 478 MB RAM

that is so wrong ?
it would still be 512MB RAM, just that 478MB is user available.. meaning that the rest of the (most of it) will be allocated to PowerVR SGX530 GPU.

The user available RAM on i9000 based models is much lower, 340-350MB.

note to all , this is a LCD screen and not AMOLED screen, also it has just 4gb storage and not 16gb, price cut is justified. VFM there but id still buy a vibrant for much cheaper n its better specs :)

Interested in purchasing one Captivate. If some one has one or received or has in transit this phone and is interested to sell his piece please pm me. At the same time I'm trying to get a good deal on ebay also.

For start I'm bidding only on new pieces as I'm little skeptical about buying a used piece from ebay US as in case of any problems I can't do any thing.

^^ Buying from Ebay.usa or ebay.uk involves quite a bit of risk. To minimize the risk only buy from sellers who have a very good feedback and have dealt with valuable items like phones etc. A lot of sellers build their feedback by dealing in cheap items. So, just don't go by the no. of feedback - check the feedback in details to see whether it is feedback as seller or buyer and what type item they dealt and also who left the feedback. If you see feedback left by buyers who themselves have low feedback like 1-2 feedback, be suspicious!! Also stay away from sellers who don't respond to your queries.

^^ Yes, I follow same rules on ebay.in. Some sellers have lots of feedback from buyers who themselves have 1-5 feedback. Be aware, this may be the seller himself trying to increase the feedback count.

I am looking for a new piece.. what should be the price range I should bid in?
I got a new sealed vibrant for $395 shipped. Imo, dont pay more than 300-330 for a slightly used unit. 350-375 for new, but opened for unlocking, 375-400 for sealed. I tried for 4 days, but this is the trend i saw with the winning bids for Vibrant in the above 3 mentioned conditions.

One more thing, try to bid after 1 PM IST. Its nighty night in US at that time, and those sellers who are fool enough to list their auctions to end at odd US hours stand to lose as there are not many bids. You can find some good deals during those hours. ;)

Lucky you, bro. :P I tried a lot but all sealed ones were going for 375+ in the last 3-4 days..

I agree i could've got a better deal if I had more time but I had to purchase it before 28th.

Come march and paypal balance will be unusable for us. All thanks to bloody RBI :/

what's the minimum feedback score of the seller that u guys are looking for ur deals ?

i have one question, like if a seller has even a feedback score of lets say 10 , and he does some hanky panky in the deal , won't we still be protected by the PayPal Buyer Protection ?
