Samsung Focus i917 battery problem

This happened to me once. But after that it did not reappear.
You will have to buy anything for the Focus off of Ebay. Locally nothing seems to be available.
 
the link seems cheap but is a s2 battery original in a sealed box is it the same as the one in focus s ?

Just because it starts up with 50 % charge doesnt necessarily mean the battery is bad, might need calibration for a few cycles ? How long have you been using it for, is the battery puffed ?
 
Bad battery. You need to get a new one. DO NOT get the OEM battery. Lots of dealers sell Focuses with OEM batteries that last a few months. All 5 Focus phones I bought have genuine batteries. I specifically checked before I bought them.
IMHO I think Focus and S2 batteries are different. Not sure

I read in Metalspree's post that FocusS=S2 and Focus=S

Well it has been going for cycles once every day. On most days it is twice. I bought the phone around September last year so 8-9 months.

Not sure what you mean by puffed but the battery is fatter in the middle as compared to the edges.

It does seem like an OEM battery as there is no branding on it.

That is a definite marker that the battery is gone. Just to be sure... I'm not kiddin'.. Remove the battery and place it flat on a table.
Try to rotate it. If it rotates for some time then the battery is gone.

Anyway the original battery is listed at Rs. 500 odd at the Samsung India store. Have ordered one, let's see if it fits.
 
Nah they don't have it. They have instead given me the Samsung service center address from where I can buy this. Apparently it is close to my home so will have a look this week.

Tell me too, just in case I run into the same problem. IIRC u live nearby my place.
 
if its slightly thicker at the center then its definitely puffing meaning time to buy a new battery. Physically sign of a good battery is flat all throughout, no elevations at all anywhere. anyways at the rate uve been using it uve definitely crossed the 1000 cycles suggested lifespan.
 
Ok went to a Samsung store in Aundh and bought this off the shelf for Rs. 559. Asked specifically for a Samsung Galaxy S1 battery.

Pics attached. The new battery is outside the packaging and the old one is inside it. Notice that the new one is Made in Japan and has higher Wh rating. :P

Your old battery looks fake! I have the Focus and my original battery looks like your new battery :P

9003 is SL. I don't think they would bother changing the battery between the S1 and S-LCD. :lol:

Yes it surely is not original Samsung, anyone could make that out with the lack of logo and all. :P
