Assuming you are on stock ROM, you can update it through OTA/Kies. No need to download the complete ROM file.

Official ROM can be flashed via ODIN on PC without the yellow triangle cropping up

Download the firmware from Sammobile.
Get your phone to download mode.
Flash via ODIN.
Done!

Yes! Very likely!

Brick can only when you try to wipe/factory reset your phone within ClockWork Recovery. Otherwise you are safe. No Yellow triangle thing with official firmwares.
