As long as it's priced cheaper in the next 2 months. Hit 15k and I'm on it
<

Yeah man! 15K and it will be a steal!

If its priced something like 24k! I doubt there will be any early takers!

Guys i just lost my original pouch cover for my galaxy R. Can somebody tell me where i can buy the original pouch cover

It worked for me buddy, if you had installed the app during the promotion period then it should work fine.

I played some 6 missions after that I didn't play it for about week. But then when I started it again it failed to recognize the data it had downloaded to the internal memory and asked me to download about 1GB data once again, so I simply deleted it.

Where are you stuck ? Did the app atleast download the data to your device at the first run?

Nope. I downloaded the app during the promotion time. Din't download the 789MB additional required data.

3-4 days back i downloaded the data and then the application gets force closed when i start it

The app might be corrupted.

Do you have a backup of the app ?

If yes then uninstall the current one and reinstall it from the backup.

If no then go to my XDA thread in the app section and download the file(its somewhere in the last couple of pages), but remember to correct the extension to the right one and reinstall that file.

Hope it'll work for you now.

Wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone. Have been using it since past once month. Had innumerable shut downs. Too busy to go to the CC. Just shuts down when the memory card is inserted. Using it as if 3.6 gb only on-board.

For any confirmation about the issues in R kindly head over to xda and just google.

My two cents for prospective customers.

P.S. Badly miss my Bold 9000. Absolutely bug free apart from the once a day quickpull.

^ This phone wasn't made for the Blackberry boys. You can always stay happy with your BB.

Do not have any issue, apart from a couple of restart in last 2.5 months. Restart is not bcoz of phone, its bcoz of Android OS.

Most of the users had to get the phone's motherboard replaced. That doesnt really explain the fault in the OS. Have used the XCD35 extensively and no such issues.

Many users even used it with the various custom ROMS available but the issues were only resolved after the MB's were replaced. Moreover now Samsung service is short of spares for the R as has been reported by many users.

Anyways my post was only directed towards the new and prospective buyers.

^^the Galaxy R isn't produced anymore and if found, its old stock and will be selling at a premium!

I have been using it for the past 3 months and i have had no problems. I use a 16GB memory card almost half filled. The only problem i have had to date was an android OS issue which appeared in other dual core phones as well (the phone *sometimes* heats up when charging). Yours might have been a defective piece. You should have taken it back to where you bought it from ASAP.

He says he's too busy to go to the service center to claim warranty & therefore the handset is to blame.
<

Over and above that he says that he wouldn't recommend the handset to prospective buyers as he has a defective piece for which he doesn't want to claim warranty as he doesn't have time.
<

I would suggest him to get a handset from a company which gives pick and drop service and would recommend prospective buyers to also do the same if they also don't have the time to go to a Samsung SC to claim warranty.
<

BTW Galaxy R works perfectly & its just that some production batch was defective for which Samsung is giving replacement or refund.

Buddy you must be one of the lucky guys to get the product from the bug free batch.

Anyways about Samsung Service & the product:

Went to the Sam CS. They have informed that they do not have any ready replacement for the product nor do they have the required material for carrying out the repairs after resetting my phone. They will inform me about the plan of action by next week. Will update then.

P.S. @ cooleagle: Kindly do not mind my words. Not meant to offend you in any case. The product that I received was defective and that is the information that I would pass on to the masses. Kindly head over to XDA or check the following links for further clarifications:

Various other India specific forums have various threads reporting the same issues. Going by the failure rates even though it was in the market for just a few months explains the fact that samsung had to remove it from the shelf altogether. Anyways waiting for the reply from the CS. Will report back then.

So you finally went to the service centre !

But those people didn't respond to you to your satisfaction.

So here's what you could do to further escalate your matter only if required, what I mean to say is if the service centre executives delay it beyond what's acceptable to you.

Get the phone/mobile number of the regional manager for your area and explain him your situation and after that send an email to Samsung India(get the Email-ID from Samsung India's website) explaining your problem in detail with the details of your experience with the service center and your regional manager in the mail. This should definitely help you in escalating your case if its being delayed too much.

Do update here on the progress for the benefit of other members who might face the same problem in the future.

Hope this helps.

I doubt that even the S2 users in India have got their official ICS update as of now.

Hell even Note hasn't got ICS from Samsung ! And we expect Samsung will release ICS for R before all their flagships ?

I am not discounting the fact that Samsung is very slow on the updates front.

Maybe they were too busy hiding Galaxy S3 from being revealed.
