Yea i'd read about that issue, within the affected IMEI range, and again not for all units like its been mentioned. But apart from that there are no other issues right? (like Soulfire is referring to :S)archat68 said:There is a random shutting issue with Captivate - you can find the link on the first link of Captivate IC thread.

My quadrant score with the Serendipity 5.8 is 1691 with the speedmod kernel.archat68 said:I'm on Serendipity 5.5 - using it for last 5-6 days. Pretty good and stable. BTW this is the only ROM that I tried.
BTW do you people find the in call volume of Captivate a bit low?
Solution to your problem posted.archat68 said:My quadrant score with the Serendipity 5.8 is 1691 with the speedmod kernel.
Haven't tried any other ROM as this seems to be pretty stable and fast.
Anybody faced the low in call volume issue?

/system on ext4 ? yes
if not, then do so (but you hav to convert /system back to rfs before every other rom upgrades or change.
Overall speed maynot increase but ext4 is adviced over rfs for low wearing of flash.

jk4 is i9000 modem and npk1 is captivate based modem from chinese release i9088.archat68 said:I think the JK4 modem is better than the NPK1 modem in voice clarity. Let me try for a few days and then I'll try the JK4 again.
download and install Captivate SGS Tools (4.5)archat68 said:Ya, I read that thread.
I was using JK4 from start. Just flashed KP1 a few hours back. It seems that the voice clarity was better with JK4 - will have to give it a few days before any final conclusion. So, I'll continue with KP1 for a few days and see.
there are many i9000 based roms for both the devices.hunt3r said:Anyone know if the micro USB to HDMI out works for the Captivate/Vibrant? It had been disabled for the US phones due to some DRM issues, and only works on the i9000 Galaxy S. If that is possible i was considering getting the micro USB to HDMI cable (at a sane price though, currently they're selling for $50 on ebay!).
Another option is the 3.5mm to Composite out cable. You lose the ability to output HD and quality is probably suspect but its atleast something. These are selling for like $2 on Dealextreme
all roms have that option imo!kanishk619 said:which rom have the option to switch between wcdma/gsm mode ?
