Hi Techies,

The Tale:

Well, I have a Samsung Galaxy Spica (and I know that many of u have it as well!!).....

The Spica comes fitted with a screen guard out of the box. Unfortunately, many of us mess up the scratchguard & feel the need to get another one.

The Twist:

Screenguards for the Galaxy Spica are not easily available in India. :@

My friend purchased one from ebay India: eBay India: ScratchGard Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Spica (item 170495294707 end time 11-Jun-2010 21:52:10 IST)
And apart from it being too expensive, he says it doesn't fit properly on the edges. :(

The Turn:

I saw this on ebay.com: 3 Screen Guard Protector for Samsung I5700 GALAXY Spica - eBay (item 230451387483 end time Jun-17-10 03:55:17 PDT)
The total cost + shipping comes to 3.35 US$ for 3 screenguards. I personally think it is reasonable compared to what ebay India has on offer.

The Problem:

The seller on ebay.com accepts only Paypal payment & I know nothing about Paypal. I don't even have a credit card; though I have a debit card.
I signed up on Paypal & tried to link my Corporation Bank VISA debit card but Paypal refused to do it. :@
I have no clue how to go about this.

The Solution:

This one is for you. I have no Idea whatsoever as to the solution. ;)

I am expecting help from fellow TE members to help me about this.

If someone can arrange a GO (provided more members are interested) or something like that, I would be really happy.

Else, I would really appreciate absolutely any help in this regard.
Even if someone can source the screenguards locally, I would be indebted
. :)

Thanx a lot.

But I am in no hurry as well..... as the slight coming off that I had noticed on my phone has healed itself & I can't even say for sure where it was!!! :)

Maybe the tooth fairy helped me out!!

:)

That first ebay.in scratch guard fits perfectly on Spica. I just added it on Sis's phone today and it was perfect fit. Bought from same dealer yesterday, received it today.

i have the same scratch guard bought locally for 200 bucks.

it was still overpriced imo.

I agree with madnav.... I paid 250 for my Moto Milestone's screenguard..... but I felt nothing as I had purchased the phone itself for ~29k.....

But to buy a screenguard for 200 for a ~13k phone seems absurd!!!

Neway, as I mentioned earlier, my original sg has fixed itself..... dunno how!!! But just in case I or any friend needs one, can madnav help me out with it??

I am from Mumbai & often travel to Navi Mumbai. Thanx.

just bargain and get it at 200 at any store you find them at.

by the quality n quantity of it, it doesnt look something worth more than 20-30bucks..

this is where the shop keepers cover for the margin they loosen over bargain on cell phone sales.

i was demanded 300 for this, normal screen guards cost 100 at other places, but no one had any for spica, thus had to succumb to the pricing as i was needy.

if you still need personal assistance in purchase then surely i can buy some and ship/hand over if you visit.
