Samsung Nexus Prime with Android 4.0 ICS-Now launched as Galaxy Nexus

Heard this is a beast. Many of my friends are going in for a contract for the Iphone 4S here. Would you guys recommend this phone over the iPhone? How good is ICS in direct comparision with iOS- Without modding, straight out of the box?

^ Going by the reviews, the phone is super fast, super cool lot of +ve's to talk about, but there are -ve's too
1) Battery, all reviews claimed it to be a one dayer, which dont work with all the guys out there.
2) camera, Better sensor agreed, but definately not comparable with Iphone 4S atleast looking at the test shots in various websites
3) Music : Iphone definately has an edge

People can pour in their thoughts :cool2:

What about HWA in ICS?

Sent from my galaxy s2 with tapatalk pro.

Hardware Acceleration

Beginning with Android 4.0, hardware acceleration for all windows is enabled by default. Hardware acceleration generally results in smoother animations, smoother scrolling, and overall better performance and response to user interaction.

what will be minimum hardware requirement to update to 4.0 ?

^ Why? The RAZR will be released on GB, and will take quite some time to get an ICS upgrade. Also the Galaxy Nexus has a higer res display which has a ppi of > 300.

Why are people taking it for granted that the Galaxy Nexus will be priced at 40k? As it has often been mentioned here, European or even US prices are not an indicator of Indian prices. IME, the Galaxy Nexus will be priced at ~32k during launch and will slowly drop to ~28k within 3-4 months just like the Galaxy S2 and many other top end phones released in the past. Other than the iPhone 4, which mainstream phone was launched at 40k in the last few years?

Build quality is subjective. Some prefer tank like phones which weigh a ton and have a non plasticky body, while some prefer plastic builds which are light, despite the huge displays. Constant official OS updates is far more important than things like build quality for most people.

But with Motorola phones now being under Google, shouldn't we be expecting updates sooner for it as well? What are the expected prices for Razr?

Not necessarily. Eventually, yes. But for now Google's top priority will be (and should be) the Nexus line of phones as they are marketed as a developer's phone. I guess the next Nexus phone would be built be Motorola or LG (if Google wants to appease LG). Also, if the Droid RAZR has the Motoblur interface, it won't recieve updates as fast as the phones which run on a vanilla version of Android.

I think Android 4.0 looks like a very exciting step up especially from the current UIs persp. It will be very interesting to see how TW4, sense etc get revamped. Exciting times ahead and hopefully soon.
