Samsung S23 or A55 ?

Which to get?

Or

Both S23 (8GB+256) & A55 (8GB+256) for 43k

For 3k more you can get the A55 with12GB+256

Both will get four OS upgrades but the A55 starts at 14 whereas the S23 launched with 13

The A55's battery will beat galaxy S+ (let alone S) models for half the price if you accept a slightly less capable camera.

Did I mention the A55 comes with a microSD slot.

It's possible the A55's price will reduce further but the S23 might not be available later.

I'm also wondering whether the FK S23 offer can be trusted as Amazon can't match it for much more?

And Samsung wants 70k on their site for the same specs S23

Finally, a vertical app drawer and some improvements in the notification drawer (I'm still searching the option to combine quick settings and notifications in one panel)

The text under icons and on the ui has reduced in size. I preferred the way it was in one ui 6.1. A little bigger.

Can't see any way to get that text size back as yet. Increasing font size by one notch makes the text in say settings a little bit too big and does nothing to increase size

That vertical app drawer is amazing. I've not played with other launchers so it's a new thing :)

Was interested to see whether we get extended battery health data as is possible with the S25

Turns out you cannot as it doesn't show up in the battery information under settings.

But it is possible to get with a little extra work on other Samsung phones

If the MMI code doesn't work. Turn off auto blocker

What I got from the dumpfile

battery FirstUseDate: [20241003] Oct 03 2024 (corresponds to the day when I got the phone and switched it on)

mSavedBatteryAsoc: [98] 98% battery health

mSavedBatteryUsage: [3800] divide by 100 or 38 cycles¹

LLB CAL: 20240619 Jun 19 2024

Technically when the battery was installed and charged for the first time which you could interpret as the phones manufacture date

See videos I posted earlier. Those are the tweaks.

What is your drain rate btw?

Keep in mind those readings are from a barely used phone. As the idea is to measure drain rate
My drain rate is a lot higher, I'll check with that gsam app
No difference for me boss. The drain rate for a stock build was already pretty damn good with one ui 6 & Android 14
This app unavailable in play store?

You can only do it overnight.

6-8h minimum no touchy?

Seems I got it before it got removed

^try that

3.46 is what I have

The app is not being actively developed since some time now. My only use for it is to measure the drain rate
