Samsung Wave S8500 India release

Dropped my wave yesterday and the screen got shattered. The phone is still working fine though. So ... any idea how much I would have to shell out to get a screen replacement done? Also since the wave has been discontinued, will it be an issue? :(

btw wave 2 does not that great a screen, also does the new firmware update cause issues with pre installed applications ?

Welcome to the exclusive club of Broken Super Amoled Screen.

I dropped my wave last week, gave it to SC, got the phone back with a new super amoled screen, total damages 5.5k :(

Got a cheapo flip case for my wave, also applied full body cover from gadget shield, my wave looks ugly now but I dont care. Peace of mind is more important than looks.

ya i know :( too bad though. I am able to use all the apps i installed before updating so no issues with that.
 
guys i have a wave gt-s8500 bought last month with a manufacturing date of August >it has the DDJH1_INU firmware.I am using a 16 GB Transecnd Microsd card class 2 .I have about 3.5 gb of music in my memcard.The album artwork is all 300x300 pics embedded in the mp3 files.when i access the music player the flow becomes a bit jaggy and jerky in cover flow view mode.will the new firmware update help in any way ?btw in Kies I have selcted UK.How can i change the location without reinstallation?
 
^ gr8 hardware at gr8 price and fast OS to support the hadware....... thats what makes samsung wave special...........

price is around 17k.......

Its for 17K seriously , man i need to update myself .

Also Wave and Wave 2 whats the difference and which wud be a bettre buy.
 
actually the original wave with the Super AMOLED screen is no longer available... its been replaced by the wave 2 with a super clear LCD

it means that while messaging you can use multitouch like an iphone. feature missing before the firmware update.. so the messaging is blazing fast.

and wait for more as 1.2 will have swype to type at hyper speeds.

I read somewhere that the original Wave is now a collectors item :)
 
well wave 2 has a 3.7" Super clear LCD vs the original wave which has a 3.3" Super AMOLED. The LCD on the wave 2 cannot match the super AMOLED but it is bigger so thats some what of a compensation. The battery life would also be considerably less on the wave 2 coz of the screen. Besides the screen, the rest of the specs are the same and it should be available for ~18.
 
^^You are hoping to find it by luck,people here are searching for wave in each and every small/big shop in the city for the wave :P, if you can find it then go for the original wave S8500 or else go with wave 2 (S8530).
 
Paid Application is now available in Samsung Apps (In mobile) just today morning I checked it out..... U too guys check it out....
