In your case, I guess matching the IMEI numbers was an option if you saw the listing of a new watch and asked for pictures of the watch's imei. I think it is pertinent and very important to be extra cautious while dealing online unless you know the other party.
Hn i never second guessed it. I had nothing. No imei or anything. I wasn't able to prove properly and chat screenshot, they are like ye kuch prove nhi karta ye koi evidence nhi hota hai sir

Yes chats ss aren't evidence per se, that's why you need the WhatsApp backup file in the court to support your claim. Though, I understand why anyone would go through so many legal hoops for a low ticket item.

I am new here. If this was a scam why did he even ship him the card. Why not just exit after completion of payment?
Simple, he knew the card was shit or close to dying, had no use for it, and shipped it with bare minimum packaging. As for why even bother shipping and not exit after payment? Probably so that if caught later, he can always say it got damaged in transit, and try weasiling out of any responsibilty by enforcing "shipping at buyer's risk"

on youtube repair channels ive seen lot of dead 4090s and some with ripped pads under the memory. i think the bigger the chip, the higher the chance of ripped pads either under the core or memory chip near the corner of the gpu chip

Good point. Very sad incident, indeed.

Whenever I do deals in OLX I do only intra city deals as when I am in Hyderabad, in 2022 in case of 5600X CPU the seller came to my house and delivered the CPU sealed box which he bought from Amazon along with Invoice & in case of LG 32GK650F Monitor I went to the sellers house in Kukatpally and checked it while after he neatly packed it in the original box of LG along with Amazon Invoice.

Then once dealing with a Computer Table via OLX in 2022 the buyer told me to scan a QR code he sent me while I did it which asked me to send some money to him but I told him that I am selling the table and he should sent money to me. Then he said that he already sent money to me and that since now he does not want the deal he wants his money back and he has the Phone Pe history which has the transaction which shows him sending money to me and he threatened that he will call the police, that's when my wife intervened and told him to come to our house because ECIL PS is next to our apartment. He immediately said that there is no need to go to police and that he will not disturb us anymore. Such scams & scammers are all over the OLX, FB Groups & Instagram.
