I am an employee of SBI working in Vijayawada. I have a SBI Gold & Siliver Debit Cards and a SBI Credit Card too. I am presently trying to link my Debit Card to PayPal Account (unsuccessfully!). I have suggested PayPal people to allow linking Debit Cards also for they have to respond yet. The main problem is, SBI doesn't allow third party to make debits to our accunts unlike other banks for security reasons (for this reason, SBI Account is like an iron safe, difficult to open and close!).
For opening an account PayPal verifies our credentials by making a nominal debit which SBI refuses to allow. For this, PayPal can send sms or email to the account holders giving their Indian Account which could be attached as a third party in net banking for further payments also (this is the suggestion I made to PayPal).
For the informatin of all, SBI Credit Card managers are in no way related to State Bank of India. Now a days even petrol bunk payments with CC are charged with commission. Even cancellation of CC after getting it is difficult. The person who evaluates our profile for issuing CC is a petty employee working for commission. SBI deposits irrespective of amount will not ensure a CC from them. It solely depoends on earning capacity with proof (I wanted mine for Rs.30,000/- which they refused and gave it for Rs.90,000/- which I don't intend to use).
