Hey,

I was just wondering why is the start / stop count so high? Approximately 15 shutdowns per day. Genuinly curious about it. It just little over 2 years old drive.

ANOTHER WD DRIVE I AM SELLING. CHECK ITS START/STOP COUNT.,

Check the link above.
START/STOP count is normal. It increases when power saving mode is active.
Only load cycle count and annualized work load rate matters.
Also, if you compare power ON hours count with start/ stop count, it is like 1 or 2 start/stop count per hour.
which is very normal.
