Storage Solutions Seagate RMA rocks

It is not the case that Samsung RMA rocks... It is just that you are pure lucky, nothing else. A company that can goof up 500Gb hdd for 1 Tb can always repeat the same mistake which on other occasion may not go in your favour.

Its not a goof up, you need to know the history of the service provided by certain company before making such wiseass comments.....

Whenever they are short of a particular model of a HDD, Seagate/Accel provides the next better drive they have with them........

I m thinking to RMA my 500gb wd now....but the problem is it doesnt have any problem..lol

ALso once i gave my seagate 160gb for rma........and when i got 250gb in return..what i did was i just went out and started to run away from the centre....before the guy comes to know abt his goof up..later came to know it is normal practice.....

Sure, will try this sometime:bleh: :bleh: But never had problems with my seagate drive :( .Anyways, enjoy the extra storage :)

I was not so lucky. Gave my 320 GB 7200.11 and got back the same model and capacity, just different piece.

But the RMA service was smooth and without a hitch.

yeah,i also got a 750gb Seagate 7200.10 hdd in replacement of my bad 500gb hdd 2 years ago.Generally Accel infoline is very good in RMA service!..thinking RMA'ng the 750gb one too,it's also Not keeping very good health of late..if lucky should be getting a 1tb back!

Then again RMA 1TB in hope to get 1.5TB
Dont think thats very likely dude, coz as Banik said, the companies provide the next higher capacity of HDD as replacement, 1TB HDD's are freely available, getting a 1.5TB is highly unlikely.

Its not a goof up!

The Replaced Hard drive type and capacity is Greater than or equal to the hard drive given for replacement..

I have to rma my 1TB .11 now :( A bunch of bad sectors suddenly cropped up out of nowhere. Hope I'll get a .12 in return.

Well that is sure good news, if they are giving .12 in lieu of .11, I am going in 2moro with my .11 500GB, it has spin retry count error.
I hope they change it.

bah! I replaced my 320 (.10) and 500gb (.11) drives in the hopes of getting a larger capacity drives but sadly i got the same capacity both times. but yes, got faster drives. both 1 platter .12 :).

I have a 500 GB dying dead from ages. Haven't given it for replacement as it has the famous firmware error. I would be happy if they could make this one alive with my data instead of a 1TB :(

My 120 GB 2.5 freeagent go just died 1 month back, dint have the time to rma it for 2 weeks, but finally went and gave it to the service center last week. Guess what i got a spanking new 500 GB drive for free! Now thats what you call awesomeness. I was pretty shocked at getting the 500 GB drive, i confirmed with them 3-4 times whether this is my drive
