Armaan, I suppose the only way you can find out if the phone is FU is to break the seal and enter a micro-SIM card into the slot. In all probability this is a FU phone if the carrier is not mentioned anywhere outside the box. You will not lose any value if you were to do so, you can have it mentioned in the first post - this will only avoid further queries and confusions.

Found out about whether the phone is unlocked or not by contacting apple technical representatives. It is indeed unlocked mate.So as to provide the best possible value to any prospective customer I have refrained from opening and will do so till it is on sale .
