Seedbox sharing !

I think the minimum contract period for every seedbox provider is 1 month. I may be wrong but I am sure its okay if someone wants to opt out after a month.
 
I guess you cannot use a standard webhosting dedi server for seedbox purposes. they have separate seedbox plans. you should confirm that with the hosting provider.

we will need to get all the things sorted before we take a plunge. As digitaldude pointed out, how will these companies allow their dedicated servers to be used as seed boxes when they have separate seedbox plans ?

I do understand your concerns, but I am led to believe that the plan which we are opting for does allow us to do whatever we want with our box. Anyways, as you rightly pointed out, we will clear all our doubts before taking the plunge. :hap2:
 
This would be the best option if it works out. Other affordable options don't give you more than 50GB of space. Isse mere daatn bhi geele nahin honge! :no:

Currently also, I am downloading 2 torrents which exceed 125GB each. :eek:hyeah:
 
But can you list down the other affordable options that you are aware of. Because in worst case if this does not work out then i will have t go with a cheap seedbox as i have asked in the other thread also.
 
Dont worry about seedbox being a problem , AFAIK its OVH and they have around 50k servers , they wont bother if you setup a seedbox

Also we need to have a guarantee beforehand that things will work later on

thats nothing exceptionally tough for anyone having used a linux system before.

we shall be having root access, so we can set up the system anyway we like.

after it has been setup, it is just a matter of accessing the webui of the torrent client from the local machine here.

edit: they also seem to be a pretty good service provider

If there are more pros of using this system then i am definitely in.

But i will have to check access to this outsystem website at my home. I hope it is not blocked by the Great Firewall of China. Because in case it is blocked then i may have to opt out. But for now i am surely in :)

On this plan expect Minimum of 167GB for your torrents ! Rest of space goes for server software, over time it grows rapidly due to log files and backups.

Nothing is unlimited, its 200Mbps over 2 months. You can't download more then 60TB, because its time bound. So 60 TB is the limit, but this 60 TB is theoretical ! If you get more then 800GB per users It will be great, its roughly 6TB per users. And you will definitely far more then that.

With your BSNL 500 Plan or 750 UL ! You can't download more then 150GB a Month. And if you are sure to get more then 800GB of bandwidth, then you download 150GB and you upload back 650GB, you maintain a high ratio.

For the UL Plans its even less you can't go over 100GB a month.

I will take care of all setup and maintenance ! Nothing to worry.

And those boxes can be used as seedbox not to worry, they are also named as SD easy and stuff like that..!

Minimum time is 1 month, obviously, you can back out next month,

I will announce vacant slot and try to get some one in, if too many vacant slots,then for that month, there won't be any shared box among we TE users.

Also keep in mind, 670 Rs is not the Total Cost.

If you download 150GB a month, you have to spend your own extra 400 - 500 Rs on storage ! DVD Disks, HDD or whatever your method is.. Or else downlaod and delete from your HDD to make space. ;)

Please remember this!!

Also add +20 Rs buffer to 670 Rs, because money is lost in transfers in the form of surcharges via paypal/banks/credit cards..! So its around 690 !

And last thing, I don't want to be payment leader, am ill equipped, since am still a student without PAN card and not salaried ! Some one with credit cards or good paypal balance , please come forward and and collect the money.

The payment leader, first gets the cash from all of US and buys the server, and sends the Admin details of the server to all Who want Admin/Root access.

I have SBI Bank, I can transfer cash, i can transfer via paypal too. In my kotak bank account where i got netcard, i have low balance !

Akshay man, this thing will rock! I am getting speeds in excess of 250kBps constant on my connection. Downloaded the file in 6+ mins. At this rate, I will do about 1GB in an hour using this server. 24GB a day! 720GB a month!! :eek:hyeah: :clap: :hap2:

Can I have your SBI A/c. details please? I will transfer 700/- in your account. In case the initial cost exceeds this, I will transfer the balance later.
 
Guys have reached home, check from my home connection...its working :):)

Now the only hiccup for me is money transfer. ICICI bank possible. I also have a paypal account (but no money), just credit card linked.

Just because of this money transfer issue i dont want to loose this opportunity :)
