while i still believe its possible heavy 24x7 torrent downloading could have been a factor, its more likely (like other posters said here) that you have a bad/unclean PSU/UPS/whatever that is causing electrical damage? my place in pune has the worst electricity supply i've ever seen, constant fluctuations spikes/dips so i have a corsair vx450 and APC UPS and hope thats enough. if i turn on a normal incandescent bulb you can see the damn thing flickering all the time with the bad power even the UPS sometimes "clicks" on and off at a high rate even when there is no actual power cut, just due to the bad fluctuation

Hey i have a good power connection and there are fluctuations but very rarely & on top of that i have as APC ups and the AMIGO PSU is also very decent & it has given me not trouble when i had 250 gb HDD.

One thing is sure, My next HDD would a Server HDD

something like Seagate Technology - Barracuda ES.2

Which is designed to run 24/7, Desktop that we use aren't designed to be in always on mode.

Google uses consumer hardware. They say server hardware is not worth the money.

Hv u checked ur HDD on any of ur frnd's PC ?
If no, thn try.
if it works on ur frnd's PC thn thrs a prob on ur sys nd if not thn make a replacement

Hey guys the HDD was finally buried and Got a new one as a replacment and all my data is lost. I have to start collecting it all again.
