Again, look out for something out of the ordinary in Swat, Quetta, Peshawar, basically most of the NWFP, Balochistan, Punjabi and some sindhi dominated areas in Pakistan.

It is hard to find any other reason for the level of confidence with which you talk about the "undercurrents" ....the only other explanation

Everything he has said is out there in the open, at least wrt to his posts in this thread.

The harder part is connecting the dots, there is no way to prove what has been said but my gut instinct agrees with what has been said in this thread.

Something has to happen in the FATA areas, they are threatening to take over the govt. taking the piss out of the Americans and safely retreating back home. Americans making big noises about how they must 'secure' the nukes but i dont believe a bunch of terrorists can take over a professional army.

I'm not seeing an end game here just yet but the options to manouver are getting limited for the Paks.

I think there will be a lull till the Olympics are over that way China will be more attentive to its clients needs.

The Americans are dying to go in there and yes Sept seems a good time to help boost McCain's ratings and show how he is a man that can win wars and throw Obama off balance.

I don't think it will go that far, i think what leet has alluded to is that the Paks will be forced to clean out their house or risk dishonour by letting the americans do it.

Win -win is for both to do the job and tell the world they have scored a victory against terrorism.

Anything resembling a conventional thrust into Pakistan, with aims to taking over key areas/large territories will be met with nuclear weapons.

Pakistan is always close to the nuclear button. They will have nothing to lose, they're already a basketcase with no future. But they will definitely be itching to take us down with them.

Sure, fast, decisive movements aimed at destroying resistance instead of occupying land will not get us a nuclear response.

Thats why the IA perfected its Cold Start doctrine. Those exercises you keep reading about, they incorporate vastly different supply chain, logistics trains compared to previous IA ops. The generals know that we cannot risk a nuclear war and are therefore ready to hit them hard and get back out as soon as possible.
Though if we're willing to take a few hits from nukes, I don't see how we can lose against the Pakistanis .

But economy is more important than military...so just pray they don't even come close to taking this step.

I still don't think the general anti indian mentality among their masses is likely to disappear, so the risk of resurgence of terrorism can never be ruled out even if they actually do dismantle every bit of terrorist infrastructure that the PAK government has helped build for decades.

IMO it is a good thing.....shows that even as many blasts as we have had in a matter of 24 hours can't scare our people. Their objective

is to actually make people loose faith in the ability of the government to protect them . What they apparently don't realize is the fact that most people

already know this. The government just doesn't have the resources or the will to protect the average guy....they're too busy protecting the "shibu sorens" .

The Indian Mujahideen in its email also said its intention was to cause panic and fight political outfits which were opposed to Islam. The mail further read, 'We the Indian Mujahideen have carried out attacks and will continue to do so. Stop us if you can.'

The first time the Indian Mujahideen came into the limelight was during the Uttar Pradesh blasts in November 2007. Immediately after that a mail had been sent out by the outfit claiming responsibility for the blasts. The police, however, had dismissed the mail as a prank and continued to look for a Harkat ul Jihad e Islami-Lashkar e Tayiba link to the blasts.

The second time the outfit was in the news was during the Jaipur blasts in May this year when it claimed it was behind the incident.

The IB says the latest email shows that the Indian Mujahideen was behind Friday's blasts too, and the Bangalore police is trying to ascertain the similarities between the two blasts.

IB officers told rediff.com that in both cases the intention was not to cause casualties but to create a scare. The mail also says the outfit's intention is to fight governments which it feels is anti-Muslim. In both Karnataka and Gujarat the BJP is in power.

So who are the Indian Mujahideen?

The IB says the outfit was floated by a couple of youth from Hyderabad's Old City, as a faction of the Students Islamic Movement of India.

With the arrest of SIMI's top leaders in Indore, the Indian Mujahideen has been given the responsibility of carrying out terror strikes. Although the outfit is not as professional as SIMI it is capable of creating chaos, sources said.

Immediately after the UP blasts, the Indian Mujahideen was deliberately pushed to the forefront by SIMI and HuJI as the heat on them was growing.
