I too, like OP, am looking to upgrade from the 2700 to a 5600x. I have an RTX 3070, but I can barely maintain 250+ FPS in CSGO. I think my processor is letting me down. Thoughts?

Well, it has been shown that having more frames than your monitor can output may help with input lag, but that's a topic for some other day.if you have a Asus 360Hz PG259QN than you have a huge problem
But yeah, gaming is just one scenario. Unless it's purely gaming PC, I don't see a reason to step up from 2700 to 5600x, not in this scenario at least.
