^no they can do that. even in malls/theaters the stuff will sold at MRP and will be actually higher outside

Recently when we were returning to Mumbai from north, Cadbury Dairymilk was sold to us at printed cost however MRP on Gems was hid with black marker. Initially we bought it for Rs.30 but later on, with careful observation it was Rs.15. We immediately returned and got our money back.

Coming to soft-drink and milk extra charge, milk is generally sold at Rs.1 higher if buying in evening. For soft drink, earlier when we used to have them once in a week or so, had to pay Rs.2-3 extra on MRP. However if we bought bottle not kept in fridge it was on MRP. So we used to buy that non-fridge bottle and keep it in fridge at home :(

I once fought a shop keeper for that 2 rupees he was charging on the coke 500ml bottle.
I told him, he got the fridge free from Coca cola (if he takes 10K bottles or so - I am not sure, but heard somewhere), and do he really thinks 2 rupees electrcity was used to cool this bottle?
Then he started other BS like, everybody charging that extra. I asked for bill with that 2 rupees, to which he refused.
He was aged guy, so I left without buying. But had to bought from another shop paying that 2 rupees.

Buying non-fridge bottle makes sense if you are taking it home. But when you are on the road, that cooling charge is unavoidable.

I have seen for a fact that in many theaters and commercial establishments, they have started to sell the stuff priced higher (than what you get outside) but the main scam is that the printed price on that thing is also high. They have it written as "Specially packed for Inox" or whatever theater or so. In this way, they will technically sell you at MRP on the bottle but the same thing from kirnana/supermarket is with cheaper MRP.

One more set of goons are the Neeta Bus stop in Lonavala. They overcharge for everything. MRP is totally disregarded. I try to never buy anything from there when traveling Mumbai-Pune route and carry my food if necessary.
Same with the other bus stop on expressway near the Mumbai Toll (when coming from Pune side), the one where there is McDonalds and stuff. They also overcharge for everything. People actually prefer going to McDonald and KFC there since that is priced like elsewhere.

25 Rs+ for a supposedly Karjat Vadapav....My foot.

This new place I moved to is good. Guy delivers milk packets (Nandini to be precise) at 7am sharp. He charges no extra than MRP or cooling charges or delivery charges. Just have to pay money upfront for one month. God bless this guy.

We have the similar guy in our apartment. The only condition this guy has you have buy milk packets for a booklet which costs around 480 and it has 30 coupons. This is effectively around 16 bucks.

This guy delivers before 6 am and has been doing so for last 2 years now. We buy coupons directly from him. Problem arises when we miss keeping the coupoun.

i had similar incident, where the guy charge 5rs extra than mrp for 2l cool drink, while asking, he said, "its for cooling, if you want take it, else leave it"
the most practical thing is in bus terminal where they sell cheap(local companies) water bottle at premium price.
