You forgot cinematography, so....

* Best Adapted Screenplay: Simon Beaufoy
* Best Original Score: A R Rahman
* Best Song: Jai Ho and O Saya(A R Rahman)
* Cinematography: Anthony Dod Mantle
* Film editing: Chris Dickens

I think 3 are in the bag, screenplay, film editing & cinematography, the rest are less clear. Pleasantly surprised to know it even got nominated, hope it wins.

BTW, i only count 9 nominations so is there one missing ?

I don't think it'll win for cinematography.. The Dark Knight will most probably bag that one. People have been raving about the use of Imax Cameras and all the great shots in that film for months now.

Just watched the movie again in the the theatre(english version)... :P .... The only difference in the *ahem* version of the movie and the Indian theatrical version was that in the Indian version that the Hindi dialogues were not subtitled.. which was ok but in some scenes the dialogues in Hindi were not that clear .... For eg: When Latika puts chilli on Salim....

The children start shouting "Chilly on the willy" ....But I couldn't make out they were saying in Hindi .. Sounded something like " Butchy pey Mirchi :P "

Apart from that another thing that I noticed in the attention to detail....

Towards the end when Latika is going towards VT station the clock on the building shows the time as 12:55 am...... Then Jamaal and Latika meet and they kiss that amounts to approximately 3 minutes ... So when they finally start dancing to the song Jai Ho .. The digital clock above them shows the time as 00:58 ..... The song goes on for 3 minutes again and sure enuff after the song ends the time on the digital clock is 1:01 am ..... Now there is no way the entire sequence was shot in 8 minutes without a cut ... But still these small details were taken care of.....:hap2:

Its a movie that shows crude india and wins sympathy from all over the world!

Music is good.

Its not about the crude or showing india in a bad light, nothing of that sort.
But as a movie, it did not make the cut for me. A descent movie at most.

Not as good as the hype atall!

Aha, the competition will be brutal then.

Actually... the Attention to Details is quite there, they didn't want to show time they took to shoo the entire video, but the time that the actual song takes. :)

Movie's pretty good but over-hyped and over-rated. :P

If Lagaan didn't deserve an Oscar, I dont think this one would. But anyways, to each his own.

I just saw this in the hall...and am kinda overwhelmed. This was effing fantastic. I've been part of a film crew working as an AD and know how much one goes through to make 'realistic' movies, especially while shooting on the streets of Bombay. This movie is probably one of the best movies ever made/shot on Indian Soil!!
