sony does not have much software support.... less expandability...

htc looks good, dont know how much the diamond retail for... 25k??? touch is around 15k at alpha... but touch has a weak proci and a bad battery life..

n82.. how long the battery last..??? rest all specs are good enough.. i would have go for apple but u cannot use gprs to connect to pc and surf...

e71 i bulky and not good opinions by people at gsmarena.... any other nokia or windows mobile counterpart i should check out..????

regards

Looks bulky? Lol.. go check it out in person! I've had one for the last three weeks now, and if it's bulky, I don't know what else is left to say!

It's thin, fast, full QWERTY, A-GPS, decent music, nice screen.. what else do you want?

i will say it again.
according to me its the best nokia phone in looks & usage. period.

ps - if you dont like qwerty then its something else definitly. but if u are looking for qwerty there is really no other choice.

but arent the keys a tad bit small on the E71... i personally feel so...

its not as small as you think. just takes a day to get used to. very easy to type cause of the cone type shape so u dont press the wrong keys.

e71 cam sucks

business phone .. cam is not a priority as far as nokia is concerned ..

@neo - if u can wait for a month and extend ur budget then have a look at upcoming samsung inno v8 .. bombshell handset

Yup, people who think keys on E71 will be too small or the phone will be too wide need to go to the shop and see this phone in person. I went to look for a new WM phone or possibly W960i / one of the HTC models.

I had seen E71 pics but I almost dismissed this phone from the pics alone. And then I saw this and fortunately shop had a demo running at counter and I got to see it in my hands. And it was absolutely fabulous. Won me over in 1 visit.

Cams on all the phones suck ( yes even the SE cams ). They are good enough only for casual clicking.

Planning to buy E71 myself. :)

E71 rock..no two waya abt that..cam on e71 sucks..again no two ways abt that..But Cam on N82???

lemme just say I havnt even touched my digi cam since i brought this baby..And now i end up clicking thrice as more pics..

And there have been soo many reviews testing its cam..It came out a winner in all of them..

The pics simply Rock..
E71? there's a lot of difference from a normal phone..See it to choose it..

The feature set rock..You get almost the same screen as n82 except by default its in landscape...

The browsing with opera mini or the inbuilt browser is superb on n82..
There are a few OS modifications on the e71..check them out..Many techies really dig those features..:p

^^ that maybe because you dont have good digital camera :p

I am yet to see a camera phone (N82 included ) which gives good grain free pics. Even N82 cant reproduce details and sharpness of my 3 year old 5MP digital camera. :p

samsung innov8 looks nice but i have never used a samsung mobile... how good are they for rough use??

i gotta check e71.. although qwerty keypads is not my thing, but i can check it out in person...

else for my features n82 is better than touch at the moment... any idea of pricing of apple...??? heard it would be out in second week of august..

n82 and upcoming motorola zn5 comes very close to quality of dedicated digicam ... i have tested n82 against canon A460 which is quite old and there was much noticable difference between them ..

one thing is for sure ..there aint a cam phone which can touch n82 in low light photography . that xenon flash rock ..

Show me a camera phone that can come close to quality of pics I have taken using my 3 year old Kodak in these reviews. ( None of the photos contain any post processing )

Mind you, I have N82 in my family and I almost considered it for the camera after seeing so many people praising that phone for the cam. But thankfully my cousin bought it and I had a chance to see the cam personally. And it does not come anywhere near the quality I get from what by today's standard an absolute 5.1MP Kodak camera.

I agree that shots with A640 may not turn out too good as from personal experience, this does have much worse CCD noise than I get on my Kodak. But this 3 year old cam I have is legendary Kodak DX7590. Arguably the best point and shoot digital camera Kodak ever made. Not a fair comparison, I know. But unless camera phones start to come close to this, they will always suck for me :p

^Why do you keep forgetting the ease of anytime anywhere pics???
This one reason blows away any other quality wise quirks against it..And mind you, you are comparing it to top of the line Cams..

I've taken printouts if those pics and they look brilliant..

Fine when down to 100%, the pics do loose detail..but do u really need 5mpx woth of detail??
i dont think so...

^^ exactly my point. They are ok for casual clicking only.

For viewing, I would live with lower resolution. But I cant live with grainy images. Even at 3MP the CCD noise is just too much on all camera phones for me.

If there are two phones, one having better camera and other which is better overall business / pda phone, I will take the better phone over better camera.

Phone cameras are over rated. There are people who can achieve great results from the pictures taken from phone cameras. I have seen their work and art and I really appreciate it. But if you want a smart phone, take into account everything else before camera.

Things like Screen, office capabilities, keypad, networking capabilities are more important to a person who is looking for a smart phone.

If these are not your priorities, then you are not looking for a smart phone, but entertainment device.

@sripad: only thing holding me back from the qwerty keypad is that i have not used a similiar phone in the past and hence dont know the difference... i have a good hang of the regular phone keypads and can type at decent rate on it.

now i have zeroed in mostly on N82 (will give e71 demo a try at shop) and will let htc touch and iphone let go...

1. how much a 4gb card cost?? 8gb?? Any effect on speed??
2. how mucht he phone cost??? 19k last i heard with 2 gb card
3. thinking of a BTooth headset fot this one, which is rechargable (no batteries) ? which would be a decent buy (good reception with VFM)
4. Also do we have BTooth keypads for mobile phones... i remember nokia advertising one? Are those available in mumbai? alpha?
