See guys , what i meant by catch 22 situation ...
For a mere 250 bucks he will purposely not go over 3ghz :ohyeah: (his inner most desire , Quad has once said "i want to o/c the venice 3000+ to over 3 ghz atleast once before i die ....")

But he will spend tons of money on other gadgets like mp3 player or rechargable batteries ...etc ....:huh:

ps: incase any of you guys ever receive a screenie from quad of > 3 ghz speed via IM or see it on other international forums kindly inform XT or me immediately.... informer will be suitably rewarded.

NB:quad , i hope you take all this in the right spirit .....:tongue:

i have done 2.9ghz with this chip with 1.55v(max Vcore with this stupid mobo :( ) ....... anyways i am happy with mine OC ..... @ 2.5Ghz i am almost running it on FX-55 speeds with half cache disabled :) ..... and i don't think u will run it 24/7 on that vocore and speed so u have to find the sweet spot for ur chip .....

PS: i think ur super 1M calculation time is little bit high mine can do 33-34 secs at 2.5Ghz ..... i think ur sud be in 29-30secs range

I know for a fact that he will attempt > 3 ghz either later tonight or tomorrow .......hehe

On a normal and sombre mode:
all said and done i am glad that, atleast i have managed to put a smile on somebody's (quad) face, aided him in acheiving his personal milestone. all else does not matter .....

Well this chip was bought by me, for a friend's pc, from a TE member (Name withheld unless he gives permission ....), in response to that WTB 2 (two) venice core cpu's thread of mine.
 
lol...i guess thats same chip i had...m i right............nyways..ill b mor happy if its my chip.........

i m happy....it got in hands of some serious overclockers..frm past 2 months i wasnt using this proccy......as i m having serious bad luk with asus mobos.....but after seeing all this,.... i m thinking again to do overclock atlest once........once i get a demo sys for net....... and enough cash...ill wait for some new proccy..as good as 3000+......still then ill keep reading stuffs here and there........

and goodluk for mor experiments quady...keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Well seriously nice overclock there! But this thread should be a part of the post your overclocks thread. No need to create a new individual thread. It'll just get lost in the forums after sometime. The post your overclocks is exactly meant for this sorta thing.

Infact i want to thank you for selling this chip to deejay and thanks a lot
to deejay for swapping it my 0545.

@MAGNeT - overclockers try hard to get there hands on this beauty.
When i posted this same 2.9Ghz oc on VR-Zone ppl said how much wud u sell
this chip to me.

This is one of the most rare chips to find now.

Hope i will be able to extract the maximum from this chip.
